Is there no IP# information from the thread he started here?

If he wasn't at home when he posted this, and he posted from a wireless network at a hotel...isn't there some way to look that up?

(I don't know much about this stuff, but I know that a friend of mine who runs another small forum I frequent can always tell if I'm logging in from a different place than usual.)

To Milker and others who responded to him, let's not get sidetracked from the main issue here. Other thoughts  and stuff can be dealt with later if need be. .

Let's stay focused on the emergency at hand. You all are amazing here tonight in rising to the occasion.

Much love to all of you,

Andy Velez

From what I've heard his IP address changes through some wonky technology thing I don't understand, being how he was capable of using different screennames here.

I'm not sure if that means one of them would be trackable or not, though.

You have to have a credit card to check into a hotel... or some other form of ID, I think.

NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.

You're doing great, Tim. As others have suggested just keep him talking.

If you find the space for it ask him how he wants peopel to feel about him, how he imagines they feel or will feel. Ask him details about his animals like their names and how long he's had each of them.

Tell him you're worried about them because you know they never get properly treated when an owner is gone.

The more he talks the less likely he is to act and the very fact that he's talking at all is a sign of ambivalence on his part. But that doesn't lessen the danger that he will act impulsively.

Again, you're doing very well, Tim. Follow your instinct about what to say.

I don't know if you have a second phone so that you could notify the police on one line to trace the call or maybe someone here could call the police and get them to trace the call from your line.

Anyone here who can help with that?

Tim, I just called Peter. He is lifting the ban on Boo Radley as I write. We've never lifted one before so I couldn't get through the process fast enough.

He will shortly be able to write if he wants to. Stay tuned.
