Still scared.. cuts/oral/swollen Lymph nodes
« on: February 05, 2009, 04:45:46 pm »
Hey Experts

I am worried and I need some advice..
I am straight 18 yr man, a student and at this time I was desperate for money.
I was offered $200 to have insertive oral and to be rimmed, by this older guy (around 40 yrs old)
So he was the one sucking, etc. The only reason I am so upset by this, is because right after we finished I went to the bathroom to clean up and noticed 2 or 3 cuts on my shaft closest to my body from shaving that morning and there was blood around the area.. he paid me and I left, without saying anything about my fear, I paniced home, crying, dreading and overwhelmed by what I just did.. This was not me, but I was desperate. At this time I didnt know ANYTHING about HIV or STD's, AT ALL.. I learned a bit about it and flipped my shit! I called him and asked about his status, he just kept laughing and saying there was nothing to worrie about, which scared me, he never gave a straight answer.. I called another time and he was like, well get tested if your scared.. and avoided telling me his status again.. SO I assume he is positive.

that was months ago, I started getting terrible symptoms, long lasting I might add..
*sore throat, still have it, had for months
*swollen glands for months
*hard lumps on throat
*Cronic Fatuge
and soo on

I tested 2 weeks prior and month prior to that, screened std too, all negative..
Sould I test again... what about HPV
Thanks

Saliva has over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that inhibits HIV transmission. At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV.

Cuts makes no difference. HPV you'll have to take that up with your doctor. This is strictly and HIV forum.

Im sorry, but I guess all this pain and stress is making me doubtful..

Would this be a theoredical risk, I mean here i have open cut on my penis and someone with hiv giving me a blow job, who could possibly have a bleeding lip/gums/tongue.. Why isnt this a risk? blood on blood,

Should I test just to be sure?

Also, why do so many people mention long lasting swollen lymph nodes, clearly they/I have some sort of terrible infection, ect.

WHYYYYY AM I SO DUMB

No reason for testing with the situation you brought to the forum. It is recommended for anyone that is sexually active to test annually not only for HIV but STDs.

Robin,

Unless you punched this man in the mouth repeatedly before he blew you, there couldn't have been enough blood present to cause concern.

And not only is saliva not infectious, it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob and you certainly aren't going to be the first.

Thanks for the replies

Ann, so would you say if there was blood present in the mouth, could the saliva hinder  an infection?

Robin,

They're not talking about GETTING a blowjob, they're talking about GIVING. GETTING a blowjob is ABSOLUTELY NOT a risk for hiv infection.

My thoughts? I think you should drop the feelings of guilt and shame you're experiencing as a result of this incident and get over the fact that you got your dick sucked by another man. It's really not that big a deal and certainly not a risk for hiv infection.

NOW:
Hey guys,

This is haunting me..

This incident occured in the end of September. I didn't have "symptoms" till November.
I wouldn't still be scared if I didnt have these hard swollen lymph nodes everyday of my life, since November.
Honestly, not one day has past, that I didnt have them.. both in my neck and in my groin.
NEVER in my life have had this happen.. Ive never really had to go to the doctor for anything serious.
I am now afraid to get tested, bc im afraid of the possible answer I might get.
Also, I feel that my mental heath isn't great now.
Is it possible that these swollen lymph nodes have been mind created?.. But that just doesn't make since to me to have them this long and everyday.

I had several cuts on my shaft that day from shaving that morning.. And the guy turned the lights off when he performed.. so i couldn't tell if he had blood in his mouth or not.. but when i went to the bathroom afterword.. i had blood stains all over my penis. I remember him saying "I feel so guilty", several times the day he performed. I couldn't tell why he was feeling "guilty".. was it bc i am so young? Or something else..

I would love to hear your thoughts and advice on what i should do..
Is this a RISK? If not, why am I having these LONG lasting lymph nodes?

Thanks
RH

Robin

I have merged our posts, please keep all your questions in this one form now on..thank you for your cooperation.

I really can't add to what the guys have already told you, if you are still having problem then you really need to take this up with your Doctor, there is still nothing in your posts that would suggest you have been put at risk for HIV.

Robin,

Unless you've been having unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse that you've neglected to tell us about, whatever is going on with you has nothing to do with hiv.

Once again, as you've been previously told, getting a blowjob - regardless of the details you want to add - is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has EVER been infected this way and you will NOT be the first.

If you've been having unprotected intercourse - with ANYONE - you need to test three month past your last unprotected incident.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER GETTING BLOWN, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Thanks Jan & Ann for the reply

Ann,

I didnt have any unprottected sex, other than the blow job and haven't had any sexual activity since this event. I've been too worried about being infected. This has really been driving me mad and I feel like im lossing control. This isn't me.. I just want my old life back. Worry free.

Even though I am told that there is no risk for what I have done, Im still scared to get tested, but I feel like its the only way these feelings will go away. Like I said.. I've never really had a reason to go to the doctor for something serious and these long lasting swollen lymph nodes are telling me that this is serious. Lymph nodes swell and get hard bc your body is being attacked by an infection and is trying to fight it off. What infection lasts this long? From November - now ive had them.. tired all the time, tight throught. The only thing i find online that matches up to this is HIV and that connects to my september event.

Thanks for the words

Robin,

Showing a doctor your swollen lymph nodes is the only way you're going to find out what's causing them. Whatever IS causing them to swell, it IS NOT hiv. Make an appointment with your doctor.

Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

Hey Ann,

I am continued to be haunted by this.. I still have the very hard lymph nodes and feel tired all the time.

Once again, I havent had any sexual incounters since my incident. I want to get tested, just so i know and can move on.. Do I have to give out personal information out to get test?
