Northwest AIDS Memorial Facebook page
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:57:13 pm »
For those on Facebook (which is just about everyone, right?!?)...

I have created the Northwest AIDS Memorial facebook page to honor and remember the thousands of people from Oregon/SW Washington who have passed over the years from HIV/AIDS complications. It is reported that nearly 5,000 alone have passed from Oregon.

This is a massive project, however already over 100+ photos have been submitted as well as obituaries, news articles, memorials, remembrances and some archival news clippings about early AIDS deaths.

I invite all my HIV positive brothers and sisters to check it out, especially if you are from the northwest or knew someone from this area. We could always use more help in spreading the word. With confidentiality policies from health groups, hospices, & organizations, the only way this is going to work is to get submissions from friends, family and community members.

The hope is to see this memorial grow and to eventually become a permanent or traveling memorial throughout the northwest.
