Thank You, Jan (anniebc)!
« on: December 15, 2009, 08:29:20 pm »
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Jan (anniebc) will no longer be a Forums moderator.

On one hand, Ann, Andy, David and I have come to depend on Jan in a big way -- she has helped to keep a number of spammers and other internet stinkers at bay and has done more than her fair share in terms of keeping order in the Forums over the years.  On the other hand, we're all pretty psyched that she has decided to spend her daily moderating time focusing on her final National Diploma in Ambulance (paramedic) exams in March, along with attending her various fury creatures, spending time with her grandkids, and doing her advocacy work.

Jan has assured us that she's not going anywhere -- but she's definitely looking forward to participating in the Forums at a more leisurely pace.

We have no immediate plans to replace Jan; we'll see how we get on without a fourth moderator. If it proves too much for us to handle, don't be surprised if you see recruitment posters in the Forums.

Thanks for everything, Jan!

Cheers,
Tim

Jan-

Welcome back to "coach class".  I guess I won't be needing to hail any more taxis for you now!

In all seriousness -- thank you for all you've done (and all you will do, because, come on, you are you and will still try and maintain order).

I have full faith that you are going to ace your exams in March.

Hugs,
Mike

Hi Everyone

Thank you all so much for your kind words, and a special thank you to the Mod team who do an amazing job not only in the forums but behind the scenes...a big thank you to Ann who spent a good bit of her time training this old chook who didn't know very much at all about computers, she had the patience of a saint when it came to our "training" sessions.. ;D.

I have enjoyed my time as a Moderator, it was an honour to have been asked and it certainly felt good to know that people put their trust in me to do the right thing and to help out in some difficult times, but lately I have been helping less and less in the forums because of others commitments.

Not only do I have my home life, family and animals, but as a board member of Positive Women Organisation in NZ I keep fairly busy with talks to Nurses and Med students on safety in the work force and visiting other hospitals around NZ...but now because of my volunteer work as an Ambulance Officer, that I absolutely love doing and enjoy immensley, I really need to concentrate on my studies over the next 3 months if I want to pass...and I want to pass.. ;D.

I'm not going anywhere and now look forward to coming into the forums because I want and not because I have to, and that's how I was starting to feel, I wasn't enjoying it as much and that's wasn't  a good feeling....so in the words of Miss P and Bocker...I'm back with the lower Castes and flying in Coach again.. 8)

Thank you again Tim for putting up a thread for me I would have found it hard to make the first move.

Hugs to you all.
Jan :-*

Jan,

I've been so busy doing nothing I didn't see Tim's post until tonight.  Thanks for your hard work and best of luck with your future efforts!  I'm glad you'll still be here and, no matter what, you will never be a member of a lower caste.  Miss P. deserves an 1825 day TO for even hinting as much.

Best of all you're not going to have to moderate my posts so Ignore IS an option!!

Just saw this.  Thank you Jan for all that you've done for this community (and, from an individual perspective, for your kindness these past six months).  Wish you the best in this new endeavour.
