HIV from fingering/tongue kissing?? Please advise

I went to a brothel with my friend on last Saturday night because he wanted me to 'experience' it.

Essentially I did NOT have sex, my clothes were on the whole time. I did however 'finger' her for around 20-30 seconds (probably about 2-2.1 inches inside) and had vaginal fluid when I pulled it out. I think I touched the end of the vagina but that was only once and only for a split second - again about 2-2.1 inches inside. I would like to stress that I am pretty sure I had no cuts or bleeding whatsoever as there were no burns felt except for a couple of peeled skin close to the nail. Basically if I press my fingers hard no blood comes out whatsoever.

I should be fine in regards to not getting infected, right??

I tongue kissed her for a short while, it wasn't deep - perhaps our tongues overlapped about 1.5cm. I did not have blood coming out before going to this place  and I did not taste/smell any blood from her - just her breath. But a small amount of her saliva did go down.

I've researched this a lot and everyone says that "it should be fine".

I've been very stressed in recent days, and still am, after I've realized my stupidity in doing it at all and will never do anything like that again. My lips started tingling on Sunday afternoon and I got more stressed of potentially receiving cold sores - having not taken Zovirax as a test I have not noticed any cold sores appear even though it's been about 2-3 days and the tingling is no longer present.

I called up the brothel yesterday (monday) and asked when her medical was last done - they said she is new to the industry, comes to work once a week, and the medical was done 2 weeks ago and that she does not have any STDs and that I should not worry about it because they are very thorough. I can sort of confirm this as she did mention to me privately on the night that it was her third time coming to work and it's new to her as well.

I'll be getting my blood test results tomorrow (did it on monday) and am very anxious of the results. I plan on taking it again on the 3 week mark and once more at the 3 month mark. I spoke with 2 different doctors and they both said that "it should be just fine.'

Can informed people here please confirm this for me. I am quite stressed and it's making me mentally/physically tired and I've even experienced headache and facial pains yesterday.

Hi Kay . You did not have a risk for HIV in any shape or form and can put HIV out of your mind as a concern .

These are the risk factors for HIV ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Also I plan on taking the HIV DUO test at 3 weeks (before a overseas trip I had planned prior). From your or someone else's experience is three weeks okay or is the 28 days window period wait required?

You could not possibly get HIV in the manner you are concerned , zero risk . I have seen many no risk situations and this is a memorable one . You cold not possibly be infected with HIV in this manner and you are worrying over nothing .

Since you asked . The window period for HIV testing is 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. Most who are infected will test positive by 6 weeks. For various reasons a small number will take longer and that is why we follow the CDC recommendation to test at 3 months for a conclusive negative result.

If you want to test for HIV then by all means do so , all sexually active people should test if they are not in a mutually monogamous relationship and have reliably tested negative before having unprotected intercourse together .  I just do not want you to think you must test over this no risk incident .

Not only is saliva NOT infectious, it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect. For this reason, neither kissing, nor even getting a blowjob, are risks for hiv infection.

Before you ask the inevitable question about blood in her mouth, unless you are in the habit of repeatedly punching a person in the mouth before you kiss them (or they blow you), there could not possibly be enough blood present to cause the least concern hiv-wise.

As Jeff has told you, you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection during ANY of the activities you took part in with this woman. NO RISK.

You do NOT need to test specifically over this NO RISK situation. However, if you're sexually active and you've never had a complete sexual health check up, including but NOT limited to hiv testing, then by all means, go do it.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!
