Pos 14 yrs
« on: October 04, 2012, 07:19:05 am »
Hi,I've been positive for 16 years and started taking meds (Combivir and Nevirapine)
in August 98(not long after my birthday!!)initially my viral load was in excess of 500,000 and CD4 was down to the 250 mark.In 2001 I also went onto Warfarin after two dvt's and thanks to Nevirapine currently take 16/17mg on alternate days.Ask your doc if he/she thinks that's a lot of rat poison(yes it is),my doc said 10mg would put a horse on the floor!!
Although my v/l  numbers got down to the undetectable level and have gone up to 100 they have mostly been consistent...my CD4 have been over 1300!!
Changed combo 4 weeks ago to Truvada and single dose Nevirapine in order to hopefully lose the accumulated stomach fat and restore the legs and arms so I don't look hungry all the time!
The most fun in 14 years was the 2 months I took Sustiva at 800mg a day about 3 yrs ago,its like being stoned 24/7 but not in a nice way.
