First time craigs list user here.

  I got the following add on craigs list:

  6 pc bedroom set for $500.  This is a real wood set that includes: 9 drawer dresser w/mirror, 3 drawer nightstand, a sleigh bed (queen), and a Dresser/Entertainment piece that has 5 drawers as well and will fit up to a 40" screen TV or option of shelves. The sleigh bed includes both headboard and footboard along with side rails. In very good condition. Call my number.

  The add includes very detailed pictures of the furniture.

   Here are the questions I've received regarding the set:

   Is it wood?  Is there a mirror with the dresser?  How many drawers does the dresser have?  Do you have dogs?  Does the 40" TV come with the set?  How deep are the drawers, are the knobs gold-- I hate gold.  Are you African American?  Can you deliver it to Georgia for that price?

   I'm about to put the furniture by the curb and let the city pick it up lol.

I tried selling some things on Craigslist and had similar experience.  Very disapointing.

The question about dogs makes sense if the person is allergic. 

ebay, online listings, serve a purpose sometimes but this is dreary indeed.

   SOLDDD!!  To the lady who hates gold!  While she was on her way another guy passed by to look at it.  He offered me $200 for a old rocking chair I pulled out of a garbage pile 10 years ago, sweeet.  I look forward to sleeping on a blow up mattress in Boston now!

Yeah he bought it, along with the story about it being my grandmother's chair.  "I hate to offend you with too low of an offer."  Maybe it once belonged to Henry Flagler or something.....

Well its great you got the 200. And he probably got a bargain - cause he seemed to know it was some valuable piece!

I love Craigslist (and eBay) and have had really good luck with both.  I've sold two cars fairly recently on CL... the easiest vehicle sales I've ever had.  I sold a boat on CL too.  I've gotten really good deals on tools  that I needed for home projects and have sold various other unneeded tools.  Free and effective... what's not to like?  Yeah, there are some clueless people out there.  Often, they're looking at many items and misread a description of something or confuse it with another when they ask a question.
