HIV is a very fragile virus. I've never known of it to be transmitted to anyone through an open wound on the penis in which intercourse was not involved.

Only unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse are confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV.

So no, your situation does not sound like a genuine risk to me.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

That's right, you did not have a risk and there's no need for testing.

In the future do not use the PM function when you have a question. We prefer for all exchanges to be done here in the forum. That way in addition to having your question answered others can be benefit from the exchanges.

You have no cause for further concern about HIV in relation to your recent incident.

Please do not start a new thread every time you have another question or thought - regardless if you think your questions are related to each other or not. It helps us to help you when you keep all your thoughts or questions in one thread and it helps other readers to follow the discussion. Additional threads will be merged.

Edisun, I've merged your threads here. You need to follow our rule and keep any and all entries in this same thread.

As to your latest question, the soap could have been dripping with semen and it would nothave been a risk. HIV is a fragile virus. It is not passed on environmental surfaces such as food, soap, toilet seats, doorknobs, nicks the barbershop or any of those sorts of things that people worry about totally unnecessarily.

Are you listening to the replies you receive? It doesn't seem so.

You had no risk for HIV. There is no need for testing.

Stop this unnecessary worrying and get on with your life. Period.
