Thoughts on 420 with Atripla treatment?
« on: June 26, 2012, 01:41:10 pm »
I live in California and as many of you know it is easy to get your Medical Marijuana (Rx) Card here is this State with a stubbed toe let alone having HIV. I personally believe it has helped me with my appetite, laughing and forgetting for a bit. I do not use other drugs nor do I drink. I just thought I would see who else is out there who is a fan of 420. I never smoke I vaporize or go the edible route.

I live in Washington State, you cant run out of a Starbucks here without running into a medical marijuana store.

Regardless, I am on Atripla and do partake in some BC bud.  The one thing you have to be careful of is smoking too much and forgetting to take your Atripla before falling asleep.  Now, that is not 420 specific as I am sure that happens when people drink too much or do something else too much but it does/can happen (from experience) so I thought I would mention it.  If you are able to partake in moderation and keep on a perfect (near perfect) adherence to your HIV meds you shouldnt have a problem.

Don't be fancy, just get dancey

Any truth to the rumor that taking Atripla by itself can cause a false positive for Drug test? I heard a few stories but not sure if they were true.

JG1962 could you tell your story on what happened exactly?

I began treatment in a pain clinic and they initially drug test you to evaluate if you are abusing narcotics or illegal drugs . The doctor asked me if I did recreational drugs and I told him no . He did the drug screen and came back in the room and told me I tested positive for cannabis and was disappointed I wasn't truthful with him . I remembered I had heard that Atripla could give false poz results and told him so but he was doubtful and told me so . I told him to look it up or talk to the drug rep . My next visit he told me he checked into it and now believed me . They also stopped testing me because of the false positive results .

If you don't mind me asking what information are you looking for on this topic ? , if you are more specific , I or somebody else may can answer your concerns better .

edited to add : A while back I was at a discount store and they had urine stick test for cannabis and I bought one for $ 1.00 to show a buddy of mine that my meds would give a false poz result ... and it did give a positive reaction .

JG I guess I went off of topic. I or ginally posted the 1st message just to see if other out there were fans of what God gave us plant wise. The thought just popped into my head about an article I had read on false positive tests and thought I would add that. I have read a bit about it but never came across anyone that it happened to. I am a fan of 420 and have been for quite sometime just to trying to find out as much information as I can regarding the topic, Thank you for the 411=)

That is sad. We can show commercials about Jack Daniels & Beer but a plant that needs no modification is illegal because if you use it you are a burnout or drug addict. To my that sounds like a total contradiction. In my years as a Police Officer I never once not once went to a Marijuana related incident, alcohol though that took up 75% of the day.
