Title: 4 years....latest labs
Post by: bufguy on October 05, 2012, 10:45:12 am
I have to share the results of my latest lab work.
I'm 51, was diagnosed HIV+ in May 2008, started Atripla in June 2008 with a CD4 511, Vl 47,000.
Today my labs were CD4 1275, undetectable
Cholesterol 169, HDL 74
creatinine normal (liver test as efavirenz is metabolized through the liver)
protein from urine normal (truvada can effect kidney function)

Atripla is a wonder drug

Hi Bufguy, I am happy for you and these excellent results show that the therapy really works well.
I have a question though, did you have any side effect from Atripla (you know what I mean I guess) ?

Thanks.

I have cholesterol envy!  How on earth do manage to keep such great cholesterol numbers?  Secrets? (Especially on Attipla which can raise cholesterol levels)

The atripla gave me anxiety, cold sweats and a fogginess for about 3 weeks...after that nothing...Today I could eat a full meal with it.

As for cholesterol....Exercise...I've lost 15 lbs since diagnosed...I hit the gym 5-6 times a week, 45 min on the elliptical..that supposedly has a huge effect on HDL..I don't eat a lot of red meat either. I also take 2 fish oil, 1 niacin an Vitamin D.
