Very very scared and worried..

Hi respectful admins,

I think i am infected with hiv and mby reading below you will realize. Btw i am married male.

Event
Happened in March 2011.
Supposedly protected vaginal and oral sex with a CSW.
Ejaculation in condomn and guess no breakage.

Symptoms and Analysis
Back then i never thought of hiv at all.
Had some flu symptoms in april or march but
Thought it was ghe regular flu.
In April i woke up one day and i could not walk because of some pain in my hip went to er and prescribed me medicine healed adter a week.
In mid august after almost 5 months of the incident hiv started to be in mu mind and decided to go for testing.
Here is where the symptoms started thrush, stomach discomfort, chest pain, muscle and joints pains and lost a lot of weight.
During that time i jad only protected sex with my wife.
My 5 months tests turned non reactive.
I coild not believe it and started panicking so doctor asked for full std testing.
Beginning september diagnosed with strep.
At the end of september went to full blood and urine test.
All was negative including hiv. That was more than 6 months. The test was the reg elisa.
Up till now here are my symptoms:
Thyroid enlarged
Oral thrush
Muscle and joints pain
Regained all the weight lost
Redlines in the eyes
Bowel movements

I am simy freaking especially that i see a lot of these symptoms inmy family.

Could anybody tell me what is wrong?

You have more than reliably tested negative for HIV. Which is not surprising since you used a condom for intercourse and nothing else you did would have put you at risk for HIV.

Whatever is going on with you symptomatically has nothing to do with HIV. If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. And you cannot pass HIV to someone else because you don't have it to pass.

Like many other straying husbands and partners I would say you are carrying a lot of guilt over having strayed. Fortunately fears, doubts and guilt are not facts. And the facts of the situation are clearly indicating that HIV has nothing to do with what is going.

Thank you Andy for your quick reply. I passed through many posts and a lot have similar symptoms. Why can't anybody confirm that the symptoms are typical for HIV? I inow that you guys know it but you do not want to admit in order not to scare us.
Really aren't my symptoms hiv? And add to them that constant buzzing in my ears.
I know if i browse for anxiety symptoms i would find most of them similar to mine. However why they are appearing on my surrounding persons? They do not know about my encounter.

The reason it's not reliable to evaluate HIV status symptomatically is because the symptoms associated with ARS resemble so many other illnesses. Consequently the only reliable way of knowing your HIV status after a risky incident is by getting tested at 3 months after the event.

As I said in my earlier reply, you have more than reliably tested negative for HIV. Whatever is going on with you has nothing to do with HIV. Period. End of story. You can insist to the contrary but it's simply not so. End of discussion.

Believe me, if we think a member of the Am I Infected forum needs to be scared, we have no hesitation in scaring the hell out of that person.

As Andy told you, the symptoms of hiv seroconversion are very general and can also be attributed to hundreds, if not thousands, of other illnesses. ONLY testing will reliably inform you of your hiv status.

Another reason why we do not like to discuss symptoms is because many people do not experience a single symptom of seroconversion. If we were to give any importance to symptoms, it may lead people who have actually had a risk but have no symptoms to think they do not need to test. This is dangerous thinking. Neither symptoms nor the lack of symptoms will ever tell you a single thing about your hiv status. ONLY testing will.

You never had a risk to begin with. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Even if you did have a risk (you did NOT have a risk), you have tested conclusively hiv negative. The window period for hiv testing is three months.

Also, the illness that sometimes accompanies hiv seroconversion is not due to the virus itself. It is due to the process the body goes through while producing antibodies. If the illness you have experienced had anything to do with hiv, you would have tested positive by now.

You do not have hiv.

Work with your doctor to find out what is going on with your body. Whatever that may be, it is NOT hiv. You have conclusively ruled hiv out of the picture.

You DO NOT have hiv!

Thanks Ann for answering. As to you as an expert for more than 10 years in this forum, what could this be? Today my son had lump swollon under his chin, my daughter had it a couple of months ago. When i browsed the web about this lump i found that it could be lymphoma and this is typical aids symptoms.
Is it possible that i have infected my family? I cannot sleep cannot concentrate on anything except hiv. I just cannot forgive myself for what i brought to my place for a stupid mistake that will cost the life of 4 persons. I do care about mine but my kids and wife aee the most important thing to me.
Is HIV easily transmitted from a mother to a child with regular daily activities? Are there any documented cases?

First of all you don't have HIV. And you can't pass a virus you don't have.

If you DID have HIV, which you don't, you couldn't pass it to your kids unless you had unprotected intercourse with them.

At this point I am going to warn you that if you continue to return here insisting that you have HIV when we know there is no sound basis for that on your part, you are going to find yourself getting a Time Out from the site.

HIV is not your problem. Consider yourself warned.
