They've discovered how to modify the natural proteins the body uses to block HIV's entry into cells and replicate it as a potential pharmaceutical. Read more at the following link:

Thanks for the post odyssey! 

Things like this are great to read when starting out the day.  Breakthroughs in treatments will come about in time no doubt.  Without getting my 'hopes' up too much, I do remain optimistic even when dead-ends outnumber true advances.  The fact that this also may be a viable treatment for arthritis and lupus may lead to increased funding.
