16 weeks negative; however.....
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:05:24 pm »
Good day,

I am somewhat please i found this forum. I had unprotected sex with a random girl Dec 23, 2010. Two weeks later, I had a fever of 103.5. Went to MD and he prescribed the Z-pack for bronchitis. Jan 15, 2011 got a oral-quick finger test done. HIV negative.  A Week later,I started to notice weird chills and crawling sensation all over my scalp and body, night sweats for about a week and strange white flashes whenever I blink (rare). Early Feb, I started to dry cough endlessly and was short of breath. Feb 07,2011 got an HIV test-negative. I let my girlfriend give oral sex without protection and soon after she started to have shortness of breath as well. Mid-feb I had this two-inch rash under my right nipple; the rash was there for about 2 weeks. I started to have lower back pain and muscle ache all over. May 07 went to MD again, and was tested for HIV again,Hepatitis, STI or STD's, asthma, Lyme, sarcoidosis. All negative. The dry cough and the shortness of breath still there.

Stomach has continued to move, but not diarrhea. My tongue has a white coat and recently notice, at the edges, white lines with white little bumps. I had a non-stop headache for 1 full week.

I had a forth and final test April 17, 2011. It was another oral-quick finger test done. Still negative. However, my fiance and I had been having unprotected sex and she has been sick for the last weeks. The first  two days she had diarrhea and the other 5 days she has continue to cough and non-stop runny nose. She is still sick with all the flu-like symptoms. I noticed she has been scratching all over like I did two months ago.

We both are having dry cough and shortness of breath issues. I started after my bronchitis diagnosis, she started two weeks later.

My opening line line was " Somewhat please to have found this forum" because I was visiting the "just test poz" forum and there were two cases where two patients were negative and later positive. The first one was tested negative, six months later, after two sexual encounters of protected sex, he was positive. In the same forum, another guy replied \by saying he understood him because he experienced the same issue. First negative and 6 months later, he was positive as well. I have read over and over  the "testing window period"  and these two cases and completely contradictory to the 13 week conclusive period indicated by the Ann, Rapid Rod and Andy.  I am at my 20 week after exposure time frame and still have shortness of breath with dry cough and so is my fiance. Neither one of us are cancer patients, drug users to fall in the CDC 3% category.

Finally, i have been experiencing more pain in my entire back and joints. More floaters in my vision and numbness in both arms and hands. By the way, I had always suffered from herpes in mouth or lips.

I honestly appreciate AIDSMEDS having a forum like this. and I hope a cure will quickly be found. Everybody deserves opportunities.

DEC 23 2010 (possible) HIV exposure
JAN 17  2011 HIV test-negative- 3 weeks or 25 days
FEB 07 2011 HIV test-Negative- 6 weeks or 46 days
MAR 07 2011 HIV test-Negative-10 weeks or 74 days
APRIL 17 2011 HIV test-negative-16 weeks or 115 days

Please advice.

You don't have HIV. You've tested well beyond the window period.

Fortuna,

I suggest you stay out of the sections of these forums that are meant for hiv positive people only, particularly the Just Tested section. You have to understand that many people, for whatever reason, do not report their situation accurately. We're not going to get into that with you.

As Rodney said, you have tested more than conclusively hiv negative. You do not have hiv.

If you feel unwell, go see a doctor. Whatever is going on, it is not hiv. You have ruled hiv out of the picture, so go find out what is really going on.

You do not have hiv.

Thank you both for answering.

Have you ever had someone, who thought to be positive, tell you what were some of the real health problems they had to deal with? If not HIV?  What i mean is, maybe I should go get tested for something else, but If i have a clue I won't be wasting my time testing for HIV only ??? Maybe another virus infection like candida or something else.

Additionally, all of the respiratory diseases are somehow related to a weakened immune body, and of course, it brings me right back to a HIV acute infection. You see what i mean?

Finally, I have read lots about you Ann and Andy, but are you always correct?? and Where do you get the 13 weeks conclusive time frame?

Please understand, I don't mean disrespect, just wondering?

Thank you,

Are you a longtime intravenous drug user? Have you had an organ transplant? Are you being treated for cancer or other like disease?

If your answers to those questions is no then there is no reason to doubt the validity of your HIV negative result.

Cut out the drama and get on with your life.

Fortuna,

It is not your job to go into a doctor's office and tell them what to test for. That's not how it works.

Here's how it does work - you go to the doctor and tell them what symptoms you've been experiencing. The doctor should then give you a full physical and most likely order some blood-work. After all the facts are in - the results of the physical and blood work and whatever other tests the doctor orders - the doctor then gives you a diagnosis.

We get the conclusive three month time frame from nearly thirty years of cumulative experience in the hiv community. Hiv antibody testing isn't exactly the new kid on the block, you know.

Quit screwing around with hiv and go find out what is really going on with you. The only way to do this is to see a doctor and let them do what he or she is paid for. Stop diagnosing yourself.

I have seen the MD 5 times since my exposure, I don't know what to do? Did someone ever come back to report any real health problem other than HIV?? Not being dramatic, It has been 5 months and I hate to feel ill without an accurate diagnosis?

Ok, no problem. Tuesday I have another appointment with MD. As soon as I get a real diagnosis, I'll share it with you. In the meantime, if any user or guest came back with a real diagnosis, please let me know.
By the way, AIDSMEDS is the best thing out there. Ever since i found this website, I have felt more at ease. I really hate HIV. I'll try to be smarter from this point on...

Fortuna,

I seem to remember one chap who insisted that his problems HAD to be hiv despite his negative results - and he went on to be diagnosed with some sort of cancer.

You have conclusively ruled hiv out of the picture. Stop focusing on an illness you cannot possibly have and go find out what, if anything, is actually going on with you. With your hiv tunnel vision, you could be missing something important.

You do NOT have hiv!

Fortuna,

We had a man just this morning who was diagnosed with something completely different to hiv, when he was sure that hiv was causing his problems. You can read the thread here, but I caution you - do NOT reply in that thread. You are only permitted to use your own thread to post in.

Once again, you are conclusively hiv negative. You do not have hiv. If you continue to feel unwell, see a doctor to find out what, if anything, is actually going on.

So I went this morning to see the MD and he wanted to give me medicine for depression and anxiety, which makes me feel crazier. Anyone out there with my symptoms??

SHORTNESS OF BREATH (Constant)not asthma
Itchy scalp
Hands and arms numbness
Irritability
Back pain
Heart burn (muscle and organs)
Floaters in vision
Muscle spasms
Night sweats
Stomach moving
Light Headache
Under the chin discomfort
Laziness

I know this is not a MD forum, but maybe there is more than one person without HIV with similar symptoms, who after going crazy, got a conclusive diagnosis.

Thank you,

Fortuna,

There are plenty of health-related forums on the internet and I suggest you find one that is more suited to your needs as a hiv negative person. This forum is hiv specific and this particular sub-forum is set up so that unauthorised people are not permitted to post in your thread, so you're not going to get any answers here.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Fortuna,

I deleted the post you made in someone else's thread. If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Only those Moderators and members who are authorized to answer questions in the Am I Infected? forum are permitted do so. Unauthorized responses may be deleted without permission of the poster. Repeatedly posting replies of this nature may result in a Time Out or permanent ban, at the discretion of the Moderator Team.
