I know that there are labs out there that (for a fee) can compare chemical composition of drugs. I'd like to compare the following:

1) Brand name Atripla
2) Generic version sold for $150 a month here: http://www.inhousepharmacy.com/hiv/viraday.html

Does anybody know where such a lab can be found and how much they charge? I remember reading an article recently (can't recall where) where a guy compared Viagra and the generic version.

Thank you

I'm pretty sure there have already been studies comparing the Atripla sold in the West and its generic equivalent Viraday, made by Cipro and sold in the East.

It's the bloody same.

My concern is that the online pharmacy may sell something else rather than Viraday.

If you can find a lab prepared to do the test (I think it unlikely) the test will probably cost you more than the difference between Viraday's retail price and Atripla's

I think there are some members of this forum already using Indian generic Atripla. Maybe you can do some sleuthing here and see how their numbers are.
You ask a good question of course - but if you can be sure you get the "real" Indian generic I'm sure its fine.  But how to be sure?

It seems to be a real need for those in the "west" who somehow are not getting the brand name drugs their countries should be able to afford to give them.

Why would someone receiving treatment from the NHS need to do this?

Was just wondering the same thing isn't Atripla their first line treatment for the newly poz?

That's exactly the point. All these online pharmacies seem to be half-legal operations run from unknown locations.

Why would someone receiving treatment from the NHS need to do this?

Wanna get some backup supply just in case I need to travel. Maybe keep it in a separate location - so that a friend could fedex it to me if i'm stuck somewhere.

I think that test should cost about a grand. Ie not that much in the context of Atripla price.

You can most likely get back up from your clinic. All you have to do is ask and explain why you want a bit extra. I know my bf has back up from our clinic in Liverpool. He has several months extra.

If it were me, I'd be more concerned about buying it from a reputable online pharmacy. Chances are a reputable one will not be selling fake Viraday.

There was someone on here, (TNdude) who bought Viraday online and it was fine, maybe you can PM and ask him what pharmacy he used. If you do, it would be great if you could share that info here.

Here's another member who bought Viraday and he mentions the pharmacy, which is based in the UK (www.inhousepharmacy.com):
