Wally World

Finally the answer to our question:
Why do we call Walmart  "Wally World"?

Wal-Mart
Popular Nickname:
Wally World

Did You Know?
The term "Wally World" comes from a fictional amusement park in the 1983 comedy film 'National Lampoon's Vacation.' The sheer size and "everything under the sun" mentality of the park set the tone for Wal-Mart to be called "Wally World" soon thereafter, as well as the parking lot depicted in the film -- which resembles a cement desert without end.

My local wally world is like a soap opera in itself.
They need to do a tv show or movie, like the British "are you being served", based on wally world (or the people, shoppers).

A close friend works there. And I know most the workers.
You don’t need to gripe about wally world there, the employees do it for you.

There’s my close friend thats gay and acts/looks just like Mr Humphries,
A HUGE lady that has the full image of Johnny Depp in the pirates movie theme tattooed on her back.
Another gay guy with spiked hair that embezzled $2000 (then was fired).
And the nicest lady, a night CEO, that has terminal cancer.

Sounds like the perfect soap to me.   ;)
