That voice is so much apart of that show.  I cannot think of SNL, without thinking of that voice.  It won't be the same.

I didn't know he retired from NBC in 2004, but continued flying out from Arizona for shows and then later recorded the opening from home.  Amazing he was still working at 96.  I remember him doing a guest spot on "30 Rock."

I haven't liked too much about the show for a while. Some episodes seemed like one inside joke among the crew/cast after another. Then an occasional joke for the viewer. I watch SNL knowing I will be on my laptop for the boring stuff and most of the of the musical guest acts.
I also heard Seth Meyers is leaving. He was good and funny. I will watch again to see the changes and maybe the show will be funnier. The guy replacing Seth Meyers has written for SNL since he was 22, I read that in an article, so he might be funny.
I never noticed that the announcer was the same guy all this time. I do remember the voice though.

Yeah I saw that. Its great that you made this thread to honour Pardo. I loved his voice. Really that was an exceptional and very singular talent!  He will be missed.
