Post by: Ravhyn on November 22, 2010, 02:06:48 pm

(Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) ?  I've finally decided too make some healthy lifestyle changes the problem is.  It's hard to lose weight with PCOS so I wanted too know if any other women out their have any tricks or good methods?  Healthy changes that could help me on both ends?

Hey Rav, Could you elaborate a little more on what that is exactly? When it comes to medical things, I am not the brightest tool in the shed. When I went to GYN last month they said I had some type of cyst but they didn't seem concerned about it since it wasn't causing me any pain. Probably has nothing to do with what you're talking about but I would still like to know more....Thanks

This is polycystic ovary syndrome?  My friend has this and she apparently has to be careful about when and how she eats carbs.  I presume this is because insulin levels need to be regulated? I don't have any personal experience but hope you can find some answers!  Can you see a nutritionist for a food-plan that takes into account the PCOS?  Good luck!

Hi Ravhyn, I was wandering around the internet this evening and chanced upon what looks like an excellent resource for women's health - http://www.obgyn.net/

There is a whole section on PCOS - http://www.obgyn.net/pcos/pcos.asp

And there's a pretty comprehensive article about PCOS and diet http://www.obgyn.net/pcos/pcos.asp?page=/pcos/articles/pcos_and_diet_mckittrick

As soon as I found this website I thought of you. :)  Hope it helps!
