Last minute jitters
« on: August 16, 2006, 10:39:03 am »
I hate the fact that I get so nervous right before a trip like this (or anything big, for that matter).   But it is just a part of who I am, like having brown eyes and fair skin.   I know I am going to be that way, I am aware of it, I try NOT to do it, but still....I get this way.

A few years ago, when I was first diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, I had edema BIG TIME in my ankles.   But, fortunately for me, that subsided over a period of time, and I have gone along just great with no swelling.   Yesterday, for the first time in over 5 years, my left ankle swelled up to twice it's normal size....yes, I'm wearing the dreaded "support hose" today !

It's better today, and I think if I stay off it and keep it elevated as much as I can, I'll be fine.    I better be, because I have no intention of wearing these hot, knee high, old man compression hose in Montreal.

Oh Sweetheart don't worry.
Instead of jitters its just excitement!

I completely understand though.....I have yet to NOT freak out going to visit Consumed and I should be used to that by now!

I was nervous yesterday, but as soon as I drove by the hotel I spotted RAB and The Canuck outside....waved like an idiot and was SO jittery I couldn't park my car!

What a loser!

One hug later I was fine...you will be too.

It takes a special person to wear hose and look good...you can do it...

Sae.
Meh.

I know what you mean.  I don't get that nervous about trips, but sometimes the excitement and anxiety seem to get all mixed up.  After all, adrenaline is involved in both nervousness and excitement.  Like Sae says... "Instead of jitters its just excitement!"  I guess it's all in how one perceives it.  I'm not sure that knowing this makes anybody less nervous... I'll try to find a Xanax for the trip!

Hey, I never leave the house until/unless I absolutely have to. All agoraphobic and crap. I have gone back and forth for months, whether I can handle it. I totally understand jitters.

Alan, you should have said something earlier. I could have made sure you slept all the way there.  ;)
