Title: Loseing Friends
Post by: sorryass on July 17, 2011, 03:35:32 pm
I don't have alot of friends.  Not that I'm an introvert, mean, miserable, or any other attribute that would drive people away.  No, I am a friendly, easy going person. I don't drink, or smoke.  I really don't have alot of patience for people that are wasteing their lives away with one hang up, or the other.  That's just me. I've reached a point in my life, where I come first.  If I can help, I will, but I will be cautious. I come by friends the long way, happenstance.   I don't go to single's clubs, bars, baths (r u kidding?!).  So, I can count all my friends on, allmost, one hand.  When I have meet someone I like, and that likes me back, it is magic.  There is a saying that go's something like this.  You are very lucky to have a Best Friend,  You are extremly luckly to have to 2 Best Friends,  It is impossible, to have 3 Best Friends.

So,  I have a Best Friend.  I love him more than anyone I have ever loved, other than my mother.  I would be so absolutly lost, if he were to be ill, or some such.  Friends fill an important role in our lives.  Just 'friends'.   We don't really sometimes know how much, untl they are gone.  Our mental health, laughing, crying, joking, talking, someone to listen, depends on haveing a few, 'friends'.  Even if they are just someone that we pass in the hallway, they can still be considered, a friend, I suppose.

I lost a good friend the other day.  Elmer passed away.  Of cancer.  He was aged.  I will miss him.
Bertram.

Sorry about your loss, Bertram.  It's hard to lose a friend, especially a best friend, no matter what they die from.  Please accept my condolences.

Betty

Your sweet Betty, we have a camping date sometime, to wash our laundry on the rocks, in the bushs with the bears, remember?!  Never know.
Thank you for your comment, just to be clear, my Best friend, is alive and well, a blessing to be sure.  Elmer, I should have mentioned  his name, Elmer, he passed on.  He would allways, no matter what, if I was out gardening, he would allways come out to chat.  At the end he'd drag that dang ole oxygen tank out, to talk about the flower boxes I tended in front of his basement windows.  Then he would manage to get a breath of air, a bit of a walk, before he had to go back in.  I would like to say that I did'nt really start this thread so much for condolence, but, perhaps to remind us all of how important friends are.  Elmer was a lonly fellow.  Not many visitors.... His family only came around.....after.. he passed.  I was surprised he even had any.  I have another friend that I don't visit near enough.  He, like Elmer, dosen't have many friends.    I am going to try a little harder to make the time, to visit.    Bertram.  :-*
