Returning to Montreal
« on: May 10, 2010, 07:36:56 pm »
I am going back to Montreal for a brief vacation at the end of the month.  I have not been there since our AMG  in 2006.  Staying once again in a small B&B in the Village and looking forward to breakfast at Chez Cora, Thai at Bato Thai, pizza at La Piazetta, and surely some new discoveries as well.  Now I have learned that St. Catherine is closed to auto traffic all summer which was very different than when we were there.  It was my first AMG and I am sure there will be many opportunities to remember the wonderful moments from that summer (Ric and Thom's wedding, David and David's wedding, AMG memorial service at de la Visiitation, etc.)

Will post from there now that I have an iPad to travel with!

And of course, eager to see everyone and meet new friends in Las Vegas this August.

That's awesome Gary!

I wasn't a part of the Montreal gathering . But I'm sure there will be lots of special memories for you.

Keep us updated!

Yes Gary...And I buy the 100% pure maple syrup from Quebec, it's actually $12.00 a bottle!!! in my supermarket, but what the heck, pancakes and maple syrup taste so much better with that on it.  I actually bring it to restaurants in my neighborhood and use the real syrup instead of theirs and I bring it home!!!  Such a kook I am...It draws a few stares but some folks ask about it and are very interested and say they will buy some even at a high price.

Yum, Maple Syrup! I had my first taste of REAL Maple Syrup in Vermont a couple years back, loved it so much I shipped $75 of it back to Texas. Also got to tour a Maple farm, with all the trees hooked up to hoses dripping Maple from them. So cool.

I think I'm gonna go make pancakes now :)
