This is a very sweet and moving proposal.  A guy gets their family and friends to take part.  Have you proposed or been proposed to, and how did that go?  My partner made a video proposal to me.  I have been too embarrassed to show it, because he added some bad pics.  No nude pix.  They were the waking up from sleep kind of pix.

When my Norwegian- American Cousin proposed to my Cambodian- American Cousin last year, he arrived with his Representatives bearing gifts of Gold and poultry.  The Brides family live in Long Beach...  Wearing traditional Cambodian clothing the Representatives of the Future Groom knocked on the door of the home.

The Future Grooms procession was led by players of traditional instruments.

The door was answered by Representatives of the Future Bride wearing traditional Cambodian clothing.  Permission to enter was granted to the Representatives of the Future Groom, along with the Future Groom, the gold and the farm animals.

Inside the home, there was a Buddhist Priest at an altar where the parents of the Future Bride and the Future Groom sat.  Both step parents of the groom were given seats of honor but not on the altar.

The family members are introduced and dialogue between the Future Brides Representatives and the Future Grooms Representatives.  The Gifts are presented, the angels sing and dance, the Ancestors gave their permission, the couple were married on the last Buddha Day of last year, it was a traditional Cambodian wedding with 12 costume changes for the entire bridal party, a big Khmer lunch for the 120 guests, a Reception with 4 costume changes for the entire Bridal Party and an 8 course Khmer for 120 guests.  8) Have the best day

Guilhermina proposed to me in the most endearing, creative way -- he fedex'd a dozen Micky Dee's Dollar Menu's Grilled Onion Cheddar burgers and three bottles of Jungle Juice, along with a cock ring handcrafted in Piedras Negras out of obsidian to symbolize the Aztec macuahuitl sword. This was meant to compensate for his shrunken genitalia which is, naturally, of little real use to me.

We met in 1992.
Started "dating" in August of 1994.
We rented a condo in December of 1994.
Moved into our house in May of 1996.
Got our first dog in 1997.
Finally got around to buying rings 2 years later.
We are now an old married couple.
End of story.
Romantic?
To us, yes.
Guess that's all that matters. :)

I have selected a cove on the Sonoma Coast because it is secluded, has limited parking, a stair and is rarely visited.

The date of July 29th has been chosen because there will be a 6 planet alignment in a true sextile.  Pluto will be in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces, the moon in Taurus, Jupiter and Mars in Cancer and Venus in Virgo, all Earth and Water signs.  We will arrive early to gather wood for a roaring fire and to build an altar.  At Midnight, we will face the East for the Power of Air and Invention and chant to the Guardian Powers to ask permission to meet with the Gods and Goddesses, light the East candle, say Blessed Be and turn to the South.

Facing the South for the Power of Fire and Feeling, we chant for the Guardian Powers and ask permission to meet with the Gods and the Goddesses, light the South candle and turn to the West, the Power of Water and Intuition and chant to the Guardian Powers and ask permission to meet with the Gods and Goddesses, light the west candle, say blessed be and turn to the North.  To the North, we ask for the Power of Mother and Earth and the permission to meet with the Gods and Goddesses.  Light the candle and Blessed Be.  It is Midnight, the Moon is Sextile Jupiter which means harmony at home.

We hold hands facing the night sky with the tide high, the winds kicking uo and I call out...
"God and Goddess, I appeal to you
through Fires Breath and Love anew
Roses offered to the flames so fair
with lavender and basil to fill the air"

The other bride will call out...

"Venus and Mars with the power of fire
Hear my call, Fulfill my desires
Give me the love of (insert bride name here)
By the Power of three times three
As I will it, so shall it be 8) Have the best day
Michael

Why the two year delay? Did your breath smell?

Miss P always puts out on the first date.

Perhaps this is why you are still single. :)

Well aren't you just the judgmental white picket fence judgmental WASP queen?

fyi, I'd have been married a decade ago if gay marriage was legal and allowed your partner to immigrate. And additionally, we met exiting a subway, then met for a drink later that evening, then had sex twice that night. Then had it repeatedly over the next five days.

Now excuse me, it's Mother's Day and as such I have begun lactating for a date later this evening.

ps: ONLY FIVE DAYS LEFT!

OMG!! that was just beautiful, I wish you had got it on video, that would have been the pperfect Christmas present (for me of course) it just melted my heart to read this, so very romantic, and I'm sure you will find a use for his wee shrunken willy.

I wish you both a long and happy life together.

This is not exactly how I remember it. At all.

Also, I proposed to my sons mother in the most chivalrous way...I looked down at her pregnant belly and said " I guess we better get married".

'm a true romantic you know.  ;)
