Is this the next big thing?
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:12:05 am »
Hi everyone.  :) In honor of the upcoming work week, which I won't be a part of unfortunately, I want to ask if you've heard of this energy drink or maybe you've even tried it. I'm wondering what comments you have on it. Thanks, Alex http://www.5hourenergy.com/

Hey Alex....I have seen this at the vitamin store but just assumed it was a little bottle full of alot of caffeine.  There is not much caffeine in there.....probably the taurine combined with the mega dose of B vitamins that makes it effective.  Hmmm.....have you tried it?

The more important question:  Why won't you be a part of the upcoming work week?  Is everything OK?

Hi Craig and thanks for your concern. .... If I work and make even $1 the State of New York will yank all my food stamps and public assistance and I can't live without them right now. I haven't worked since October of 2005. Back then I had no energy and AIDS wasting.....  I used to work on Wall Street in a stressful job with lots of phones ringing all the time, lots of time deadlines, and oh yeah, lots of petty stupid maddening office politics which prompted me to call it "Melrose Place" instead of Wall Street  :D  :D  :D If I return to the financial industries, I'm pretty sure my CD4 and % will plummet rapidly  :( ... I have a meeting with the State of New York on February 8th. Hopefully they will help place me into a less stressful industry. I have a good vibe about this upcoming meeting with them. Take care!  :)  8)

P.S. The worst thing about Wall Street is not the work itself but the people and their funky attitudes. The stereotypes about Wall Street have much truth to them. Oh well. I myself had a funky attitude too, when I was at the top of my game. But I had no choice. It was kill or be killed. Anyway, it's very humbling when the shoe is on the other foot

Hey,

I had no idea of what you are going through. I am also struggling with my weight. I get really excited when I gain three pounds and then see them flushed down the toilet because my diarrhea comes back. I have wasting but I don't know if If I have lipoatrophy since I am hoping my weight will come back (30 pounds of mostly muscle lost). I have not heard of the drink, but then again I have not been in a healthfood store in a while.

Sorry to hear about your weight issues. :'( PM me and we can compare notes When wasting was real bad for me I weighed 134 lbs. Now I'm 152 lbs., which is 2 pounds over my ideal weight. I'm 5-feet 8 inches tall (plus fractions  :D)

Upon further reading of the above energy drink, I'm totally gonna skip it because it says it causes a niacin flush. None for me thanks  :D

Hello Alex,

It's kind a funny you mentioned this product. The first advertisement, I heard for this product was on TV, last Thusday evening. ( But then I forgot what the name of the stuff was. All I could remember was that it was mentioned as being sold at Walgreens, and other locations... That it had zero sugars and carbs, and something about energy for five hours. Must be the Caffeine !! Anyway, tried to look for the stuff Saturday, but couldn't find it. The thing is, I don't do caffeine,or as very little as possible. Got to add also, I have only tried the energy drinks on a couple of occasions, but that was a while back.

Just for the hell of it, I should try one at 5:00 in the morning, when I am working. That's usually the time I could use a little boost. I will see if I can find one, on the way into work tonight. If I find one, I will let you know.... Maybe they will scrape me off the ceiling in the morning.   ::)

Wasting issues don't always equal lipo, or vice versa

Never seen the stuff in my life but I will buy a bottle just to test it out. I really need a boost from 9am.-2pm. I'll check out Walgreen's the next time I do. Thanks for sharing this.
