Title: A bit worried but I may not need to be(frottage)
Post by: Newhorizons on September 25, 2013, 11:32:41 am
I started a relationship with someone whose HIV status is unknown.

We have not had unprotected sex but have fooled around, frottage(this is a heterosexual relationship btw).
As crazy as I may sound I am worried about skin breakage during this activity and the risk for HIV.

I know that I certainly put myself at risk for other STI/STD though. Sighs

We have both decided to get tested tomorrow but it would take a few weeks to get the results and the waiting game is going to kill me.

P.s. Thanks for dealing with us crazies time and time again :)

Hello!

Under no circumstances is the activity you described an HIV risk in any way whatsoever. Frottage might, however, expose you to STDs which can be spread through skin contact (syphilis for example) but not HIV.

Thanks for the reply.

The clinic is taking forever with the test results and I since started with a body itch(no visible rash).

I may have reason to believe that my partner may be hiv positive due now finding out her history in detail.

I am worrying about if we had any dipping now and panic has set in.
Didnt sleep any last night and as soon as I started panicking my saliva production stopped cold and I now had dry mouth.

You can relax . You never had a risk , so no risk = no HIV .

You are worrying yourself all for nothing . If you had a risk we would have told you so that you can get treatment if need be , so do yourself a favor and stop worrying over a no risk situation .

Ok ok.

I will stop reading stuff to worry me, disconnect and just go outside.
I am even beginning to worry my partner more than she is and making her feel like she is definitely infected and infected too me  :-\

Either way I would need to get retested in a few since I tested inside the window period(she is outside of it) anyway so no sense worry because I would have a few 2 months more of that to do even if her results not what we want to.

I am off!!!!

You do not need to get retested because you never had a risk in the first place.

Ok guys the test results are back, My partner(g/f) had to call the clinic who had to call the lab to find out what was taking them this long.

We have both thankfully tested negative for Hiv, syphilis, gonorrhea, Hep B and HTLV(I think). We were not test for chlamydia(We dont have the test here in this lovely "third world country" but will treat symptoms if they appear)

Whatever is causing my body itch is at least not any of these.

Hopefully I would not have to be back here.
I need to just get married and have a monogamous relationship(I am working on it!!!)
