Title: I flame....
Post by: JamieD on August 30, 2007, 09:01:49 pm
I flame....

- People who think that I must have money because I drive a Lexus SUV. Atleast once a day (when at work) a patron will say to me "Oh, it's good to see that they are paying you well.". Guess what? They're not. I got my Lexus SUV as a gift for my 18th birthday. I didn't have to pay a dime for it.

(And no that has nothing to do with being a fiscal conservative. If people want to give me lavish gifts for finishing high school or university I will accept them).

- People who report me to my manager and insist I should be fired. I can't be fired. And the next time I see you I am going to rub it in your face that I can't be fired.

- People who are mean to the Elderly. Show some fucking respect to the sweet old lady standing in line behind you. Let her fucking go in front of you. I don't care if you're in a rush.

- Virginia State Troopers who pull me over for speeding and then don't give me a ticket. If you're not going to give me a ticket then don't waste my time pulling me over. I have been pulled over twice this past week, and a total of 5 times in my life and NEVER been given a ticket. I guess I play the dumb british boy very well.

- People who ask me is I am from Australia. Do I frickin sound like I am from Australia?

- People who call anyone who doesn't agree with their viewpoint a "denier".

- Fundies who demand respect from those of us who don't aren't thiests, and that we respect their faith but will constantly disrespect non-thiests and don't respect their requests to not be evangelised to.

- People who correct my spelling and get all cocky about it like they are a rocket scientist or something, when I am only using a different form of English then they are.

- My French professor who feels she needs to say everyone's attempt at speaking French is "good", even when they are sometimes COMPLETELY wrong.

- My sister who feels like she can tell me that she believes homosexuality is a sin, yet she is pregant with her second child (both by different men) and living with a man with whom she is not married.

- The Pro-Life whackjobs who stand out side hospitals with redtape with the words "LIFE" written over it. The same thing for those nutsos who put up anti-choice posters outside of the Houses of Parliament. I'd light the posters on fire if I wouldn't go to jail for it.  :)

I'll be back who more people to flame.

After reading your post, I was going to say who shit in your cocoa puffs today but I see you've had a bad day. I've had a helluva week myself. I think the point of Jamie's thread is for him to vent or any of us to vent if there is something that pisses us off. I think some should lighten up too, since when is it a freaking crime to vent? For those who are perfect and speaks perfect english hooray for you, if it bothers you that much that something is misspelled or not to your standards then don't read it. Geez Louise!!!!!!!!

Those same people do get tickets then cry like babies.

Nobody with any sense or class is impressed by the vehicle a parent gives a child.

Instead of being untouchable, they eventually get fired, and made fun of behind their backs and in front of their faces.

These same people must have some deep-seated unhappiness or insecurity; why are they trying to prove that they should have our respect.  If they didn't care about us respecting them, why are they even posting to us?

etc, etc, etc.  Those of us with a little more life (not necessarily years) experience tend to mostly yawn and say 'give it up, girl'... at least we do.  Ummm, I'm feeling a yawn coming on right now.

People who brag about what they drive, how they do not get tickets because they outsmart the state troopers...

Not bragging about my car. I would only be bragging if I had, in fact, paid for it myself. It was a gift for finishing high school, hardly worth bragging about. It was part of my flame how people assume I get paid well because I drive a luxury car. I don't.
What can I say about outsmarting state troopers? It's a talent that I have and not many others do. If that's bragging.... oh well. I have saved myself well over $3000 (US) for my talent, and possibly many days in court and possibly jail time. I play dumb very well. Pretending to not know the difference between Kilometres and miles gets me a long way. I am afraid that one day I will get a police officer who realises that Britain uses miles and not kilometres on their speed signs.

Post by: fearless on August 31, 2007, 01:08:01 am

Your state troopers must be even dumber than how dumb you play. If the speed limit is 60 miles an hour, and you claim to be doing 60 kilometres an hour you are in fact doing about 35 miles an hour and, in fact, not speeding.

But, vent away. the recent full moon has bought all the whackos out from the woodwork. I've done nothing but talk to crack pots since wednesday.

PS. How come you cannot be fired?
PPS. I would never brag about being your age and driving a lexus, no matter who paid for it. it's such an uncool car for a youngin' to be driving around in. just my thoughts.

Agreed. Young people driving $60,000 vehicles is the height of vulgarity, like women in their 20s wearing diamonds. It's not done.

I flame....

- People who correct my spelling and get all cocky about it like they are a rocket scientist or something, when I am only using a different form of English then they are.

"Then" they are?  I think you meant to say "than" they are.  Sometimes "than" is used after some adverbs and adjectives expressing choice or diversity, such as other, otherwise, else, anywhere, or different, to introduce an alternative or denote a difference in kind, place, style, identity, etc.).  For example, "I had no choice other than that."

Feel free to correct me if Im wrong, but then Id have to flame you.   ::)

Ok so let's recap.

Ok. You have a Lexus and people think you're rich. I guess your parents are rich. Maybe that's what they're thinking.

- People who report me to my manager and insist I should be fired. I can't be fired. And the next time I see you I am going to rub it in your face that I can't be fired.
Ok. Unless you're your own boss then you can be fired. If you think you cannot be fire because someone will protect you from being fired is weak.

People who are mean to the Elderly. Show some fucking respect to the sweet old lady standing in line behind you. Let her fucking go in front of you. I don't care if you're in a rush.
Not every old lady deserves respect. I agree with you on the overall attitude towards elderly people but some old ladies are bitches. And I will shut the door on them.
I hope they have internet access in jail.

-People who ask me is I am from Australia. Do I frickin sound like I am from Australia?
Yes.

People who call anyone who doesn't agree with their viewpoint a "denier".
It's called Denialist, not Denier.

- Fundies who demand respect from those of us who don't aren't thiests, and that we respect their faith but will constantly disrespect non-thiests and don't respect their requests to not be evangelised to.
Try again in english.

People who correct my spelling and get all cocky about it like they are a rocket scientist or something, when I am only using a different form of English then they are.
Try Shakespeare english. It's understood by many.

-My French professor who feels she needs to say everyone's attempt at speaking French is "good", even when they are sometimes COMPLETELY wrong.
Certainement.

My sister who feels like she can tell me that she believes homosexuality is a sin, yet she is pregant with her second child (both by different men) and living with a man with whom she is not married.
That sucks. Sorry about that. Not sure how to deal with this.

The Pro-Life whackjobs who stand out side hospitals with redtape with the words "LIFE" written over it. The same thing for those nutsos who put up anti-choice posters outside of the Houses of Parliament. I'd light the posters on fire if I wouldn't go to jail for it.  :)
I have no comment on pro-life, I am not a woman and I have not been able to figure out what is best for women and how the government can help women and their partners on that issue. It's a very difficult subject.

Milker.

English For The Confused

Intense in tense isn't a sentence
Tensed in tense is past tense

Sometimes sense doesn't make sense
If you write 'no sense makes sense'

A sentence with no sense
Is senseless nonsense

Absenteeism is noun what's absense
Essential is verb what's essence

What makes a synonym
Can make an acronym

You cut the cut with cutter
You speak, yell and utter

Taken aback, surprised, refused?
Well its English for the confused
