Same question, still not tested

Ok, here's my story.

On the second week March this year I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend, possibly my only risky encounter.

Following that, my girlfriend had a very aggresive throat disease on the third week of april. Her doctor told her she might have infected me some disease through sexual intercourse and then reinfected herself through oral sex, which sounds kind of strange to me.

Beginning May I gave her oral sex. Now, last week I had a lot of pressure coming from school finals and I had little sleep, as a result I got a throat infection. But as of yesterday my girlfriend spotted I had folliculitis on my thighs. This rang a bell, since I have regularly practiced sports all my life and I have got irritation and stuff, but I have never got folliculitis.

She has some medical history of depression and that might explain why she gets ill easily, but she isn't really sure she is no HIV+.

Anyway were waiting for june to test for ELISA after 3months of exposure, we'll see what happens, I'm pretty anxious and just wanted to share this.

Armand, even if you have folliculitis, that is absolutely not an HIV specific disease.

It's a good idea for you and your gf to both get tested at 3 months past the last time you had unprotected intercourse. You also need to know that you should always be using condoms unless you are in a securely monogamous relationship in which both partners test negative at a reliable point. Condoms should be used for both vaginal and anal intercourse with no exceptions unless my previous comment applies about testing negative together and being securely monogamous.

Good luck with your test result. Nothing you are reporting symptomatically is suggestive of HIV.

I'm keeping high hopes of it returning negative, but I think I'm mentally prepared if it goes the other way. Browsing for answers elsewhere on the web definitely gets you nervous and paranoic. Good thing I came across your forum, I'll keep you posted.
