Title: sprained my ankle, covered in a rash, not feeling too great about myself
Post by: wolfthorn on September 14, 2013, 01:36:34 pm
ugh so I managed to sprain my ankle. So now I have AIDS and a sprained ankle. I also have a rash on my neck and face that the doctor thinks is from immune reconstitution. I'm just hoping to get my labs back on monday and to hear (some) good news... I hope the HAART is working and that my numbers have improved... maybe the rash is a harbinger of a big increase in T-Cells, who knows!

At least before I didn't have visible signs of illness, now I'm limping around work with a rash and people are asking me "what's wrong?"

I just want to feel better so I can go to the gym and work on getting buff.

Hi wolfthorn,

Can u try to give other words for " sprain" - sorry, but dont understand - so onlyguessing...(did u break it..?)

What are yr latest numbers ?
Same u, I have tons of skinissues - and actually I think we need higher cd4(200+) before we can see progress. I really think IRIS is shit, i hate it...but its a must, for people like us, who have low cd4!

I send my thoughts to you, for a fast recovery.

Hugs,
Peter

@wolfthorn

trust me it gets a lot better, all this popping up now because your immune system is getting itself together and starting to fight. It will go away or get less severe, what meds are you on?

@peterdenmark

A sprain is when the area is severally irriated due to a fall or trip. Not a break at all.

Thanks for all the support!

I have my next labs on monday. a month ago i was 87 cd4, 511 VL. I am hoping to be better this time. i'd be ecstatic if my vl was double digits or less, or my cd4 was triple digits.

the rash has gotten a little better. I hope it's my immune system fighting it off.

I guess I still have to keep my fingers crossed.

All I can do is take my tablets and get good sleep. there are certain things that I can't control.

the skin thing is horrible though, because i see it when i look in the mirror and i feel like everyone knows it's a problem (though people do get rashes all the time)

Good combo I know you'll do good next labs. I'm waiting for mine to come into any day now lol.

The bactrim made my skin white and ashy but keep on it.

Can't wait to get off the azithro. then i'm hoping to peel back the bactrim some day, though i doubt it will be before some time next year.

i just want my face to clear up, and my ankle to get better.

the good news is my lymph nodes aren't as swollen as they were when i just started the meds. that was making me scared i had lymphoma.

more importantly i decided to go to a shrink just because I needed to talk about how i was feeling about things. it's really been quite bizarre to continue working through a near death experience. i am v. fortunate to never have had to be admitted in the hospital.  granted, i let everything else go besides work, AIDS self-care, and sleep. it was nice to talk to someone neutral about it in person, though i have to say this forum was a light in my life in a very dark time.

now i am wondering what i will do about relationships once i get better, but i have to admit that is a much more interesting thing to speculate about than to go online shopping for caskets, which I was doing in July.
