Creating a Jersey for my bike ride
« on: May 07, 2008, 05:18:31 pm »
I'm sure everyone here knows about my participation in the AIDS/LifeCycle ride this coming June.  My main goal is to bring awareness about HIV and to educate everyone I meet or cross paths along the ride.  I am a member of a group called Positive Pedalers, check the link if you want to learn more about who we are http://www.pospeds.org/ .  We ride wearing our "I'm HIV +" jerseys to show that our lives have not ended with HIV and to help bring an end to the stigma this virus still carries.
I am also making small flags that will be attached to the spokes on my bike.  The flags will have names of the people we lost to AIDS, so please send me an IM if you would like for me to add a flag for you.
I also want to honor you, all the wonderful people I met in these forums.  My original idea was to carry a flag on my bike like I did on AIDS world day, but the truth is that those little bike flags are not aerodynamic and on such a long ride I want to be as light and "non wind resistant" as possible.
I found a place where I can customize a jersey so this is great.  My questions now are:
1- I don't want to "out" anyone so let me know if you would add your name to my jersey and if you want your real name or your forum username
2- This is for you Peter...would it be okay to use the AIDS Meds.com logo?  POZ logo? (free advertising for both)

The front of the jersey would have the AIDS Meds.com POZ logo and the back of the jersey would have a slogan, something like "WE ARE ALL SURVIVORS" and our names/usernames listed bellow that.  I am taking suggestion for the slogan too.

Let me know your thoughts....

Rich

Being "outed" doesn't bother me in the least.  If you want to include my name, do the real one.

Timothy Hunter.

Sure!  Feel free to use the logos on your jersey.  Thanks for thinking of us!

The AIDSMeds.com logo would go on one sleeve and the POZ logo on the other.  The front of the jersey would have this
