Worrying about labs.

I have a dr's appt Thursday and called his office this morning to find out why my results are posted on Webview.  I spoke to his nurse who indicated he noted that he didn't want my results posted until he had a chance to see me in person.

This has only happened one other time and that was because I test pos for Cryptococcal Meningitis. 

Had I been feeling relatively healthy of late, I wouldn't be as concerned.  But I've felt generally poor the last couple of months with a decrease of cognitive function.  I assumed it was from pushing myself.

I've watched my blood sugar slowly elevating over the last couple of years with my last fasting test just under 180.  He ordered the molecule blood test with these labs and I pray that isn't the next issue to deal with. 

Guess I'll find out in about 48 hours.

hang in there. I know it'll be a long 48 hrs but try to stay a little busy and don't dwell on this too much. Thinking of you, buddy!  <3

Thanks Mike.  I sent an email to him indicating my displeasure for not being able to review my labs ahead of time.  Perhaps he has a lot of "newbies" but I reminded him that after dealing with HIV/AIDS my entire adult life, I don't need to be coddled.  I asked (in an assertive manner) to please post my results so I can review them and do any research ahead of time in order to be prepared with questions.  I'm not a fragile type who will spiral out of control with bad news.  I'll just man up once again and deal with it.

I guess I'll be awaiting his response.

my clinic hasn't gone to electronic records yet (hopefully this month), so it's always been "wait until you see the doctor to get your results". Well, except for a couple of times when I bet with my case manager on whether my counts would be higher or lower - and she won and wanted to gloat. ROFL

but as was mentioned in another thread, doctors are just people too and not the paragons of all-knowledge and all-power. Sometimes you have to do you own research and push back to get the treatment that you want. 

so that's a good action on your part. good luck and I hope you get to see those results sooner rather than later.

Hey Wolfter....been thinking about you....any update? How are you?

Thanks Cojo, needed to take a break for a while.  It is my blood molecule test that was the issue.  I'm headed to diabetes if I don't take some needed steps.  I have once again refocused my diet and am seeing great results.  I was shocked when I started tracking how much sugar I'm getting thanks to soda.
