Our Anniversary
« on: May 01, 2008, 10:52:25 am »
Its been 15 years since Kurt and I met.  Since gay men (still) cannot get married here, we celebrate according to an age old tradition ( ours) of the day we first met. This is not the same as  the day we moved in together or the day we introduced ourselves to our friends as a couple or the time Kurt made us matching leather harnesses. No.... this is the 15th anniversary of when we first met. Two pozzies living happily ever after?

Hubby and I also celebrate when we first met.  This month is our 9th anniversary.  We were married in Montreal while at the '06 AMG, so we celebrate that, too.  Congratulations on your 15 years... that's like 25 in straight years!   ;)

That's so sweet, 15 years together. Me and my bf have been together for about 8.5 years now but we each find other guys to sleep with on the side, so called "open" relationship, and that's why I became poz and he isn't. So it was 1993? I was still a virgin back then.

Joel,

Happy Anniversary!  I thought that Sid and I were the only ones who used the day we first met as our "official date".  We met on the day that Saddam invaded Kuwait -- a very important date for us, as it turned out, because 6 months later I was activated in the Reserves and sent to Iraq/Kuwait.  It makes it almost impossible to forgot our anniversary (although he does manage to be a day off more than not  ::) )  This Aug 2 will be 18 for us.

Do something special today!  Here's to many, many more happy years together.

Mike

Congrates to you, Joel and Kurt.  May I ask, what is your secret??

And congrates to you, David and husband.  What's your secret?!?

Inquiring minds want to know!

There are several parts to our 'secret'.  One is being mutually respectful.  Another is finding something in common that we can have fun with... camping at a gay campground is one of our main fun activities.  The third is allowing ourselves to have 'fun' with others.  We keep no secrets and tell each other what we do (if we don't happen to do it together as a 3-way).  As hubby says...  "We're married, not dead.  "He told me I should add this fourth item... only one of us can be crazy at a time.  So far, for almost nine years, it's been him.  When's my turn, damnit?   ;)  Seriously, though, we balance each other's personalities nicely.

Thanks again for all the nice thoughts. We had a very nice anniversary.

Jeffery..... Oh the story of the harnesses......welll.....in fact both Kurt and I put on 20 to 30 pounds after living together for awhile.  He cooked and pampered me so I of course gained weight, and he went to the gym and took testosterone to bulk up. Which worked.  When I first met him he was buying "boys" size clothes...a 28 inch waist. Now he wears a 32 pant and has a large size shirt.  I gave him all my old shirts and bought Extra Large. The harnesses were given away.  Kurt cant fit into his chaps any more, the vest is too tight, etc etc.
