fingered someone and freaking out
« on: April 29, 2010, 02:51:24 pm »
Hi recently met someone and we went back to his place and I fingered his anus while he masturbated. I also rimmed him and am now freaked out that I am going to test positive to this. If I had any cuts/abrasions-large or small on my finger am I going to now become positive? Aslo, what about a hangnail-would that make it riskier. How long should I wait before getting tested over this exposure? My finger is somewhat enlarged and slightly painful. One fiinal question, how long until thrush would appear on someone who is converting? Thanks for your time.

No matter what twists you throw into the mix about hangnails, bruises, nicks, sores, etc., fingering is absolutely not a risk for HIV transmission. Nor is rimming.

Thrush is not an HIV specific occurence. If you ever think you have it you need to see your doctor for a diagnosis and if you have it that still doesn't have anything specifically to do with HIV.

You didn't do anything that put you at risk for HIV so there is no need for testing.

We do generally advise that anyone who is sexually active ought to at least once a year have a full STD panel done because other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV.

Cheers.

I understand your concern too. I wonder whether a hangnail is considered an open wound and if it came into direct contact with blood would it be a possible means of transmission?

And I meant direct contact outside such as touching someone else's genitals if they have an open wound. Is it true that no penetration=no risk?

Sporty, it is a rule of the site that members  in this section are not supposed to post comments or questions in someone else's thread. I have removed your questions from the other thread you wrote in and put them back into your own.

For touching someone's genitals on which there was an open bleeding wound you would have to have a bleeding wound as well. That hardly seems a likely scenario to me. A hangnail is not a risk for transmission. If HIV were so easily transmitted we would have known that long before today.

You are worrying needlessly.

I am sorry about posting on someone elses thread. Thanks for your time Andy. Even if they had blood and I had blood on a hangnail-it would have to be fresh on mine and come in direct contact with their blood-is that correct? Also, even if that happened it would have to be enough blood to get directly into my bloodstream for possible infection right? Should I test over this exposure? Thanks again.

Give it up, Sporty. You didn't have a risk no matter what spin you try to put on the scenario. I am also going to warn you that if you return again with more of the same about a non-risk situation, you will find yourself getting a 28 day Time Out from the site. Consider yourself warned.

Get on with your life.

Hi everyone, I did something the other night I have not done in a long time. I went to an adult bookstore. I did not touch or do anything with anyone. I did lean on the walls watching others. The next morning I woke up and I noticed a brand new fresh abrasion/open wound on my elbow and wondered if someone who was HIV positive had leaned on the wall with any type of open sore that left blood and then I leaned there too and my new abrasion/open wound came in contact with it is there ANY risk of contracting HIV from this? Also, how long once outside the body is the virus rendered inactive? Thanks for your time. I just wondered how worried I should be about this situation.

First of all, I have merged your threads here. Please follow our rule and use the same thread anytime you have anything to write.

Your latest what if scenario is another non-risk of course. As you have been told before, the only risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.

So this latest fanciful one you have come up with doesn't even remotely merit being taken seriously.

I'm giving you that 28 Day Time Out you have been warned about. Don't make the mistake of trying to get around it by creating a new name. We'll spot that right off and it will get you permanently banned from the site.

Get on with your life.

Sport,

A person absolutely CANNOT become infected with hiv by coming into contact with the virus on environmental surfaces. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you won't be the first.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once hiv is outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

You did not in any way, shape or form have a risk at the book store.

Use condoms, correctly and consistently, for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple! Read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them correctly and with confidence.

kissing with blood
« Reply #11 on: April 02, 2011, 02:08:29 pm »
I met a guy last night and we kissed a little and then this morning when I brushed my teeth I noticed that there was blood after. The blood was coming from the gums up front. What are the chances of transmission from this if the person was Positive. What would have to happen for me to become infected in this manner. Thanks for your time.

Sporty, as you have been told in the past you are not supposed to start new threads. Once again I have merged your latest entry with your previous ones. Please follow our rule in the future and keep any entries in tihis same thread.

As you have been told before the only risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Use condoms for those everytime and you will be well protected.

There is absolutely no reason to be concerned about HIV in this latest incident. Kissing including with bloody gums is not a risk for HIV. Your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

There's no need for testing nor for further concern on your part.

i met someone who rubbed his penis against my ass without a condom very aggresively but there was no  penetration. However the next day i noticed what appears to be a ruptured bloodvessel around my anus. The other person said they were negative. He did not ejaculate either. What are my chances of having contracted hiv in this manner. thanks for your time

Sporty,

What you describe is commonly called frottage, and frottage is not a risk for hiv infection. Even with the presence of whatever was going on with your anus, you still had no risk. Please re-read what I already told you about hiv outside the body.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER ANY OF THE CONCERNS YOU BROUGHT TO US, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I know i shouldnt start a new thread so i am adding on to this one. My question is, a guy came over but there was no penetration-but i did notice blood stains on the sheets. He had cut his knee and thats where it came from. What are the chances i might have gotten infected if i inadvertantly touched these blood spots. Is a test warranted for this? Finally, how long once outside body is virus rendered unable to transmit. Thanks

Sporty,

You did the right thing by returning to your original thread. That's what you're supposed to do, so thank you.

You're not going to become infected with hiv by coming into contact with blood on sheets. If you both had fresh, deep cuts and rubbed your cuts together, then you might have a problem - but you didn't. You don't have a problem.

Hiv is a very fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, you're not going to become infected through hiv on objects, including sheets, in the environment.

Besides, hiv can only infect a very few, very specific cells and these cells are not found on the surface of the skin.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!
