Are  you on medicine now?  The only way customs knows you are HIV+ is if they find the pills and then they start asking questions.  You never volunteer information, that's for sure.  Answer their questions and leave it at that.

If you are on meds now, then you need to find a way to send them over before you leave.  Or you can take a chance that they will not search your luggage.

Travelers afflicted with HIV
Travelers to the United States who are HIV-positive are not eligible, under current United States visa law, to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program. They are required to apply for a visa (http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/add_hiv.html) and a waiver of the ineligibility before traveling.

Hope that helps!    :)

14-16 weeks for a application,
that is just mental,
does not make it more easy because it would mean i have to apply for a visa every time i have to go over to the US.
thats just silly

Your other option is simply not to disclose. That could get tricky if, for whatever reason, you have to disclose your status to your employers. They would assume liability if they knowingly send an HIV positive worker to the US under the radar.
