Title: Nobody to talk to, need to vent
Post by: jennynyc7 on September 10, 2008, 04:19:46 pm
Well, my mom and sister made their move to Sarasota, FL over the weekend. I am really sad. My little girl turned 4 on the 4th and I couldn't even afford to buy her a present. I just got a disconnect notice for my electric bill, my mortgage is overdue, my bank account is overdrawn because, well,  I had to pay childcare on Friday and child support didn't come in when it was suppose to in order to cover it. The bank charged me a total of $198 in overdraft fees...what a load of crap! Hmmm what else??? Today I went for my labs, almost walked out when the lady called me back in and said she forgot to draw a vial for the VL and CD4 count....what?!? Got to work...finally .... and spilled my coffee everywere, then at lunch when I went to shake a can of parmesan cheese, the top was open so now I smell like dirty rotten feet! I have called my case manager and they are tapped out on funds right now...of course. I just can't win for nothing. Man I wish I could just win $1000.00, that's all, I am not greedy, just would love to get caught up. This stress is for the birds. I guess this is what I get for being "moral" and breaking up with my ex despite the financial difficulty it would cause me without his income. Oh well. Ramen noodles and kool aid it is. I am alive, that is what counts, and I have 2 beautiful little angels to enjoy...

Thanks for listening!

J
I remember going through that all.  I think that you have a great attitude about it with the thought of you are alive and have two great children. :)
I hope things start looking better for you.
Are there any other programs that can help?  I know here in Jersey, we have places you can call that will help pay for your lights.  Maybe a little research.   ;)
I wish you the best and keep your chin up!

Jenny, I am so sorry for everything you've gotten dumped on you.  One of the most stressful situations to go through is not having enough finances.  I do agree with Fran, maybe check out some of the local charities (your case manager at the ASO should have a list) to see if they can help you with your electric.

I really can't offer anything amazing to say, other than just hang in there.  We're here whenever you need to share, bitch, whatever.
  Luv,
Betty

Sorry to hear things have been rough lately.  How old are your kiddos?  Can you qualify for WIC?  I am not working, so if you need someone to call around/internet search what is available to you, let me know.  Hang in there and things will work themselves out.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the kind words. I got through yesterday without a hitch (being a 9/11 survivor) so that was a relief. I guess after 7 years you remain a bit numb. Although, when they continuously show footage of that second plane impact which I witnessed standing only a few yards away, it still sends tingles down my spine. My kids are 4 and almost 3 and are a complete handful. I "make too much" to qualify for WIC. I used to get it then child support kicked in and they dropped me. When my mom and sister moved to FL last week they left me with a garage full of crap that they couldn't take with them so guess what.....tomorrow I will have a yard sale. Hopefully the rain will hold off. Sunday there is a big concert at the Riverfront (Brett Michaels from Poison, Theory of a Deadman, Saving Abel and more), they are even shooting the first episode of Rock of Love here in Louisville. But I won't be going. I had been looking forward to it all year. Oh the sacrifices we make! Thanks again everyone. I only have 2 more hours to work then off for the weekend. Hope the stock market doesn't tank again so I don't have to do much work before I go.

Have a good weekend
