What is thissss.
« on: January 03, 2008, 02:25:45 pm »
I've had a cold for like the past week and a half and it's driving me fucking crazy. I'm really congested and I've been hacking up a lot of disgusting shit but otherwise I feel fine. Last Wednesday I was throwing up but I felt better seriously hours later and now I've just had these cold symptoms. Why is this lasting forever?!

Also - the shit I'm coughing up is GREEN! Like VERY GREEN. Which I'm pretty sure means an infection and I'm also sure nothing that comes out of your body is supposed to be green lololol unless you're a plant. But I'm not.

Is this just a normal cold thing I should wait out? If I felt sick like I did last Wednesday I would be worrying more but I seriously do feel fine otherwise. I've been chilling and resting and stuff trying to get better but it's just so persistant and I'm beginning to feel pretty gross and icky.

Is there anything I can do that'll make it go away faster? Ugh. Thanks.

Sounds like an infection to me, hun.  Get thyself to a doctor. Are you running a fever?  How long have you had symptoms? If you can, get an xray to make sure it's not pneumonia.  Hope you feel better, sweetie.

Had something similar -- lots of that "green stuff" (LOL), fevers, sore throat, throwing up phlegm, and painfully congested chest.   Turns out it was a bad viral infection, so it was on to Levaquin for 10 days.   I'm much better now, but still coughing ....  :-\

Hope you get better soon!!

My temp isn't that bad. It's 99.4, which is a little high but I don't think it counts as a fever. I don't FEEL like I have a fever either.

Like I said, I've felt like I've had a bad cold for about a week and a half now.

Also, perhaps more annoying than the coughing, sneezing and congestion - chapped lips. Curse them. Curse them to hell.

EEEK! Green is never good when it comes from the lungs. Glad you are going to the doctor sooner than later.

Hope you feel better soon.

Nope, Jaser, not a fever until it hits 100.5, according to Mini's doc.  I agree with Bryon, green + lungs = not a good thing :-\.  Glad you are going to the doctor, too.  Hope you feel better.

A visit to the doctor ( as the others have already suggested) It's best to play it on the safe side. You don't need any kind of upper respiratory infection. Got to stay on top of things...

Yes, yes. I went on Friday. I was away all weekend so I'm sorry I didn't get to reply until now.

He just said it just seemed like a chest infection. He said it wasn't as serious as bronchitis but it seemed to be headed that way or something like that. Iunno. He was weird. New doctor. Asked me a lot of awkward questions about being trans so that was a highlight of the visit
(ex: "Wait? You have a boyfriend? How does that work?")

But, he gave me something for the congestion (Pseudovent?) and some Amoxicillin for the infection and told me to come in again in a week if it wasn't helping. So far I don't feel any different but I'm gonna give it some time. I guess. Soyeah.

Sounds like the same crap I've got. I'm surprised they gave you antibiotics. The docs here don't like giving us any unless totally necessary. They will usually just send you home with a decongestant and orders to rest and get plenty of fluids.

Just thought I'd update and let you all know I feel great. Totally back to normal. I'm obviously gonna keep taking the meds until they're gone but I feel fine. :D. I never thought I'd be so happy about being able to breathe out of my nose or take a deep breath without coughing.

I feel like frolicking in a field. :P Wheee.
