It's been soooo many years since I've done algebra ... and I used to be a straight A student with it.  Now I can't even get my brain to function for it :(  I think I need to take a course in college again just to refresh.  Or get my daughter to teach me!!

I hope someone will be able to help you.

I used to love algebra 30 odd years ago.
I been trying to figure this out so J you better give us the answer!
Any way from what I remember is getting the x alone so I multiplied both sides by 2-
x+3+(2/3-x)=10x
I lossed it there- not sure if you can get the x and minus x to cancel out
maybe
x+3+ 2/3-x = 10
          x
Okay I give up! This is annoying where do I get a tutor?

Expand it out, so it's a little simpler to read.

1/2 (x-3) + (3/2-x) = 5x  is the same as  (1/2)x - (1/2)3 + 3/2 - x = 5x

Does that make it any easier for you to get the next step? Since it's a little difficult to do fractions in this interface, I've used brackets to give the equation some clarity. Did I interpret your initial equation correctly? If so, you're going to laugh when you solve for x :)

It's been a while since I did algebra Jaser, but no matter how many different ways I do it I keep getting the answer that X=0.

PM me if you want my reasoning
