I had protected insertive vaginal sex with a sex worker who started her period and did not know this until withdraw. I tried to be careful in removing the condom but ya never know with fluids everywhere. I am not freakin out but I am concerned about my risk. there was decent amount of blood. The statistics that are given for risk never mention the added factors. I guess I have to wait my 3 months.....any thoughts??

You did the right thing and used a condom. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv transmission, and the presence of blood does not change that. You were still protected and did not have a risk of hiv infection.
While you do not need to test over this specific incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

I guess it is the sight of blood (where it should not be)that causes the added worry. I'll get a 3 month test to erase the "what if" questions going through my mind. I read your advice regularly and appreciate the help you provide to people like me with questions. thank you
