There are few things cooler than a lesbian, if you ask me. There's this weird thing that goes on in Atlanta where all the boys congregate in midtown and all the lesbians squirrel away in Decatur (pronounced: Dick-Hater), which at its heart is this little "Our Town" style oasis tucked right up under the shadows of the city's sky scrapers. Myself? I've just never gotten that whole divide. It's lesbians who will be there when you need to move, and it's lesbians who can make a party with nothing but an acoustic guitar and a camp fire.
There are so many talented gals out there, and I thought I'd start up little thread in their honor.

Oh yes, the Great Divide. I've had some decent lesbian friends in the past, and actually right now I'm most excellent cyber IM buddies with one that lives in Oregon. In fact she just over-nighted me a pro Apple Mighty Mouse on Monday when mine went on the fritz... she's so fierce like that. But the boys and girls don't generally mix in public places, or at least it was the same in NYC. I'm not usually into the truck driver sect though, but the Lipstick Lesbians I totally can groove with.
I would so totally be a lesbian if I was a girl.

I miss what NYC became in the last ten years or so - the division was more about wanting to have fun then about genders or orientations.
Actually the division was about being able to afford $12 drinks than genders orientation.
Charlotte seems to be very divided. Then again - what do expect from a town that outlaws Happy Hours. Sheesh!

I used to pop into NYC's Clit Club from time to time in the early 90s. I was quite the fun place. There was another place on Bedford and 7th Ave but I forget the name off hand. Cubbyhole is still around though as is Henrietta Hudson. Been to all of them at one time or another.
Bedford and 7th was Crazy Nanny's - now defunct. New bar/ownership - not exclusive lesbian marketed.
Cubbyhole was a blast and still exists only they moved to bleeker (or west 4th?) and hudson.
Henrietta Hudson is still there as is Ruby Fruits.
As for the Clit Club...well that was a legend unto itself.

Oh, if you want fierceness you have to check out Chueca Girl Bar, where you can find all of the lesbians from Columbia and Guatemala. Naturally this is located in Jackson Heights, Queens... my old stompin' ground.

Reminiscing yesterday with an ol' lesbian pal of mine of driving to Nashville together back in the early 80's to hear this soon to be famous lesbo singer named K D Lang. It was at a small smoke filled venue and she was great. It was about the time she was trying to move beyond country. She did some fabu Patsy Cline.

Now that I think about it - Jackson Heights Queens has more gay nightlife than Charlotte...lol

Now that I think about it - Jackson Heights Queens has more gay nightlife than Charlotte...lol
Oh yeah. I spent a LOT of time in Jackson Heights from 94-98 scouring after foreskin. Tons of great bars there. Friends, Music Box, Club Atlantis 2010, Lucho's... and if you really want fun do Queen's Pride Weekend the first Saturday of June.

Yes, it's quite accurate. Over a decade ago there were only maybe 3 places in that hood, and really the "in" place was Hatfields, way out on Queens Blvd in Forest Hills. Then came Crash on Steinway (I think it's in the city now). For some reason the latino scene ruptured into Caribbean vs. South America and the Columbians took over Jackson Heights, but that's around the time I stopped dipping my feet there, and returned to home base at Twilo on W 27th until the cops found a corpse in one of the storage rooms and closed that place down. Oh, such a scandal!

When I was in Astoria they tried to open this second club on the other side of the hood. I still remember it was it's second weekend of being opened and I went with a buddy. I got really nervous when we got greeted in the parking lot by this guy with a hand radio who sized us up and then called in that two were coming in.
We then got frisked at the door and I was expecting this big scene inside but the place was basically empty! There was a basement party going on there too with Lady Bunny doing DJ. Such a weird scene

Last summer my lesbian neighbors had a party outside in there yard, of coarse i was over partying with everyone. I went home and got a guitar and amp. One lady played, so she would play a song then i would play a song.everyone was singing and we had a great time.
When i get home my daughter is laughing and says dad your a A$$hole. only my dad would have a bunch of lesbians singing No more Mr. nice guy, and Muscle of love.
