Concerned about HIV oral sex

Hello All,

I have had two oral sex encounters without knowing the status of either man.  I have contacted one of the gentleman and he informed me that he is hiv negative.  But, again people can tell you anything.  So naturally I am a little apprehensive.   Especially, considering he could be hooking up with anyone.

I did brush my teeth about 40 minutes before both oral interactions.  These were two separate incidents that occurred about 8 weeks apart.   The second gentleman and I hooked up about 2 and a half weeks ago.  The first oral encounter the gentleman ejaculated a little in my mouth and I immediately spat out.   The second interaction it was just oral sex with no ejaculation in my mouth.

The second gentleman and I participated in a little frottage and him grinding on my behind but nothing was inserted and there wasn't any penetration.   

Since my hook up with the second gentleman about 2 weeks ago.  My stomach started hurting slightly and I have a little bit of a headache. I do have a slight dry cough and occasionally I sneeze. I had a slight temperature of 99.0 degrees about a day or two ago.   Naturally, I started to become a bit panic.

While, my mouth isn't jacked up like most - I do have a cavity, gingivitis and occasional gum bleeds.   I just wanted to share all of this for some insight. 

I have been a little manic.  I also want to be clear I do not engage in ANAL sex. I am aware that vaginal and anal sex is HIGH RISK without condoms.   My concern is specifically in regards to oral sex.

You have not had a risk and do not need to test over the incident as you described it.

Saliva contains over a dozen identified elements (proteins and enzymes) which disrupt the glycoprotein shell that not only protects HIV but supports it's ability to transmit the RNA code into receptive cells.

These receptive cells are NOT, by the way, found in any abundance in the mouth.
There are several long term studies of serodiscordant couples where, as a criteria, they used barrier protection (condoms) for penetrative anal and vaginal sex but NO barriers whatsoever for any form of oral sex. In these studies, which spanned ten, five and three years (and two continents) there were ZERO infections traced to oral sex.

While it is true that some extreme circumstances (chronic meth use comes to mind) which strips the body of it's ability to produce saliva (it's called "meth-mouth") combined with a person in the process of seroconverting who has likely the largest viral load he is likely to have for years, might explain the scant outliers we assume to exist.

If you use a condom correctly and consistently for penetrative anal and vaginal sex, you will avoid HIV. It really is that simple.

Thank you for your immediate response.  I was just concerned due to slight temperature, dry cough, headache and stomach ache.

I was viewing a thread today "I just tested poz," in the recently, infected thread.  The gentleman claimed to have had protected intercourse, light drug experimentation, and unprotected oral sex.   

Naturally, that made me super nervous.

You need not worry , you did not have a risk .

If you are uneasy you can test for peace of mind only . I'm confident that if this is you're only concern that you will have a negative test for HIV .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I want to thank you both for your insight and feedback.  It's tremendously appreciated.

My lymph nodes aren't swollen but there is a gland that is on the left side a little under my adams apple that is swollen.  Considering that blow job was given over 18 days and I was on my knees when he ejaculated and there is a possibility that some of the semen may have touched my scratched knees that scabbed later.  Would that pose a risk? 

Overall, when you touch my swollen gland it doesn't hurt.  I also have a treading light headache.   Overall, I am hoping that these two symptoms; have nothing to do with HIV considering that blow job was done over 18 days ago.   After receiving the feedback.  I do feel a little bit better.
