Testify!
« on: May 26, 2011, 07:42:54 pm »
So folks, did you hear about the perv Father Riccardo who thought soliciting the favors of 16 year old Morrocan boys was in bad taste because he liked them a bit younger, preferably with a side of cocaine? Not just any priest, mind you, but one in the archdiocese of the Cardinal working with Pope Benedict on pedophilia issues. ::)

Well don't look now but it seems to be surfacing today that he was also HIV+. Good times.

Un-freaking-believable.  Why can't the Catholic church get a handle on their pedophile clergy and clean house?  How long does this have to go on?  How can anyone read about all these priests, year after year after year, and not believe that, given how pervasive this has been and continues to be, the institution is not morally corrupt?

Well it's got nothing to do with celibacy. It seems the godless 60s are the problem.

That's the best excuse the church can come up with?  "The devil made me do it?"    ::)   >:(

Of course, being a Christian, he just needs to repent, sincerely ask God for forgiveness and he will welcomed in the kingdom of Heaven to sit alongside all the boys he molested, unless said boys turned away from God because the person who represented the church raped them, in which case they will be eternally damned.

God truly works in mysterious ways.

Why is the devil made him do it an acceptable excuse?  Ok for the explanation but there needs to be a no tolerance policy.  Maybe the Catholic church can just move into the 21st century and let priests have a sexuality.  Which doesn't solve the matter of pedophilia, which is in almost all cultures considered both immoral and a crime.
Pedophiles should be tethered to state observation and certainly any professional contact with young people is out of the question.
The church must submit to the rule of law in the land.  Didn't they lose this battle a century or so ago?

Well, we have to understand the impeccable logic of the Vatican.. a priest cannot be gay, you see, he can't even have sex. So if a "priest" is having gay sex, he's not a real priest, he's an evil homo... so if it's all homos' fault.

Or at least before one is found out after a few transfers then he's an evil homo..

Blah de be blah blah.
Its cynical hypocrisy.  The states need to step in and throw their weight around and clean up this church because its not going to do it on its own.
