I've met a lots of hetero pos men. Not all of them where dating material and some of them I'd prefer to have never met  but none the less I've met likely less than one hundred but absolutely more than fifty either online or in person.

You just gotta put yourself out there socially. Join local social groups, go to hiv seminars or other hiv related events in your area, frequent different chat sites and forums ect.
Dating only pos men certainly shallows the dating pool but they are out there. Its just a matter of finding the right one for you.
Somewhere out there theres a fella wondering where the hell all the nice pos women are.

(Nudging the thread over a bit)

I grew up not far from NYC, the youngest of two children of upper middle class, nominally jewish parents. Both of my parents were reasonably intelligent and liberal, responsible and never abusive. Nevertheless, they did not seem to be particularly communicative in the ways that mattered to me as a child. My sister and I never spoke at all. Only fragments of any happy memories from the first ten years of my life are retrievable now. I stumbled through adolescence as mindlessly as most of us did.

I spent my early twenties in vain self-absorption. Despite a measure of material success, I wasted my late twenties either too blind or unable to deal with life, and from roughly mid 1979 to the late spring of 1980, I sought refuge from the pain of my confusion by injecting myself with cocktails of cocaine and heroin, and for those ten months I lived in that chemical dream with a young woman I knew who made her living by selling herself to other men.

When the money ran out, as it always does, so did she. I woke up from my stupidity and started to use the gifts I’d been given by life.  The year was 1980.

Still searching, but lacking direction, I tried writing for a while and I did manage to have at least one short piece published, but it very soon became very clear that I was not really meant to be a writer, so I finished college and then law school. It was a practical decision and it gave me a sense of purpose and meaning that I had never really known before. I followed that path, met my wife in 1985, and for the next two years lived a happy, if not boringly conventional life. We married in November of 1986, blissfully unaware of a cunning invader that I had unknowingly injected into our lives six or seven years earlier.

Like everyone else in those days I thought of HIV and AIDs as a strange new plague fueled by tainted semen and bottled blood that fed on the flesh of gay men and hemophiliac children. And then, in late 1987, as the epidemic continued to spread and the world learned that HIV also sought out intravenous drug users and that it could sometimes incubate hidden for years inside us, devouring our bodies from within, only to emerge years later, I began to wonder if I was also one of those who had been infected.  At that time my concern was mostly for myself; I had never had any signs or symptoms of the opportunistic illnesses that science and medicine grouped so neatly together as resulting from this new "acquired immune deficiency syndrome.” I hoped I was wrong, but somehow I knew I was part of it all.

I went to a clinic down on Ninth Avenue operated by the New York City Health Department and left a small sample of my blood, and on a cold clear day in January of 1988 I learned that I was one of those people whom the doctors grouped together to as "long-term slow progressors." Like all of us who are HIV positive, it was a day I will never forget.

Back in those days the ways by which the virus could or could not be transmitted by heterosexual sex were still not well or widely understood, and my wife and I tried to maintain some semblance of physical intimacy while avoiding any risk of transmission. For a few months we held each other, we touched each other, always aware, always fearful. We would never again make love. As time passed we stopped touching each other. We stopped holding each other.

Somehow, despite the virus, despite the fear of death, no chance of children and no physical love, I managed to do well - for a while.

For twenty years we lived together in secret shame the twists and turns of life with HIV, in a relationship devoid of all sexual contact. We were an old couple before we were old. I suppose that the simplest explanation is that we loved each other and neither of us wanted to admit defeat, but there is also an element of complacency and convenience; this world can be a very lonely place.

Maybe we lack the courage to split up and find more suitable partners. Maybe there is another woman out there who will laugh at my jokes, and a good, responsible man out there for her who doesn’t live his life dancing on the edge of a cliff. Maybe this is what passes for love in the age of AIDs.

i know you have a very playful side, but Iwishihadacat's post was heartfelt. If you reread the last half, you'll perhaps understand what's amiss in his marriage. It's not as easy as slipping on a condom and banging away as one might hope. Long-term relationships are sometimes much more complicated. This is an agonizing circumstance for him.

Great, a straight girl posts here and she lives on the other side of the country, actually the other side of another country  :) So, if any of you are in the Vancouver/Seattle area, give me a shout.

wishful comes across as the kinda woman who'd be pretty fun in the sack and Queen as a freak!  Not that there's anything wrong with freaks...

Well, you are not far off point. I am a freak but it just takes the right man to bring it out....And I can be fun in the sack....I would like to try my hand at new things too.... ;)

That's undoubtedly right - not that I would want to move to either place.

It's also hard to find independent straight (or bi) poz women who have maintained a sense of humor about life, but who can blame them?

Now Queen A, on the other hand...

Sweetie, if I didn't keep a sense of humor, I would've been gone a long time ago. It is my sense of humor and some good green that gets me by. I would love to have an independent poz man in my life. That would complete it for me but I can't seem to find one......

By the way, I am back on the market so to speak. I ended it with the neg guy I was dating. Due to my issues with disclosure, I have come to the conclusion that a poz man would be better suited for me...Now where can I find my King at?

Me too.  I've covered most ethnicites, a variety of heights, mostly slim or athletic girls but I did do one really big girl (just to see what it was like.)  I never got to do a midget though and now that I have HIV I fear that is one "to-do" that will never be crossed off the list.  I also never got to be used and abused by a female bodybuilder, another one I fear will forever remain undone, so to speak...

My favourite was either a Canadian girl who was half Dutch, half Jewish (on her Dad's side.)  She had a killer body and was an all natural Playboy model.  5'6", about 125lbs, freckles across her nose and cheeks, greenish eyes with brown flecks in them, a nice round booty and a total sex machine.  We were together for almost two years.  The other favourite was a Fijian girl who was half Black, half Polynesian.  She was 5'2" about 110lbs and had the nicest booty I have ever seen in my entire life.  She was so mouthy and had something of an oral fixation.  She liked to go down, bring me just about to the point of bursting then stop, wait for me to go limp and start all over again.  She was truly something special.  She left me for some thug (he seriously had "thug life" tattoed on his forearms in Detroit Tigers style lettering) who got her pregnant and took off.  I told her that was exactly what would happen.

I tried ALL of those poz dating sites this summer and finally met one guy.  The main problem was geography, no one lived close by.  The one I finally met had some issues, and I'll leave it at that.  We just ended up not being compatible.  I swore I would never date a poz guy, and then I did, and then it didn't work out.

Hell, I was even in a certain magazine in October and nothing.  Just scammers on the POZ personals, what a joke.  I turned in a dozen of them, pisses me off.

I'm dating a neggie now (Iceman in the Dating Threads) and we are doing well.  I consider finding him like finding a needle in a haystack, we are very lucky to have found each other.

Now Queen, as for Timtation, you know I said I would hold him down while you strap him.  We need a roadtrip to where the peaches are, kinda like a Thelma and Louise thing, but no going over the cliff at the end, ok?  LOL

puertoricans are definitely fun. not to insult the fine pr bros out there or to put it out there as complete objectification, but yall just know you rock the boat (pole & stiff upper lip included). well, most men are fun from my experience (except the codependent ones). anyhow, i definitely have a special spot in my heart for those boricuas : )

whats all this mess about a ten foot pole & a stiff upper lip? is this some sexual innuendo stuff that straight people use that i just don't get (add it to the list). anyhow, i got the s&p comment. oh, my men's support group has some hot straight guys. where yall ladies at?

You rang darling?  I've had TONS of Puerto Rican men, but I really must say that on balance the Dominican men win in the sack.  My all time winner, however, was part Cuban and part Dominican.  Puerto Rican and African American is a nice mix too :)  The man who gave me anal warts was that mix.

There are a lot of Dominican men in NYC, not so much so elsewhere.  There are sizable amounts of Puerto Ricans in Philadelphia :)

Hmmm... I've even scored men from Roatan.  Look it up :)

I told y'all Philly has a bit of knowledge on Hispanic men... ;D And if you look at his sig line, that is even in Spanish....I need to get some spanish lessons from Philly....The Puerto Rican/Italian guy I was dating was GREAT in the sack. Shit, gave him some tequila one night and he just kept going and going and going...... ;D

yup, that's a male for you, they will get away with what they can. the lock & key doesn't sound like a bad idea, but then again you don't want them pissing elsewhere - like in a sink or bottle : )

:o are you physhic?  get out of my mind.. :D  When they doscovered alcohol, I would find bottles stahed away and that was not booze in the bottle... :-\

LOL I never once found a pee bottle in my kids room and remarkably he always lifted the lid and got most of it in the water.

I have however seen a male freind get up and piss in his luggage and the same guy has also peed in a closet. God only knows where else he has peed after drinking too much.
