Please answer and don't judge ...

Some of the people giving advice on this forum may also be those giving advice on MedHelp, HealingWell and WebMD, and may already know my story.

I have been told by all, in no uncertain terms, that I am being totally irrational over something that was absolutely NO RISK for HIV.

In a nutshell, I have always been paranoid about HIV, and at the end of May I went and got tested (rapid test) at a clinic. I have been happily married since last year, been together for 3 and a half years and were both tested, out of any window period, before we were together.
WHY DID I GO AND TEST THEN ?. My fear and irrationality ?.

Even though a 'normal' person would know that they have nothing to worry about (given the testing above before we were together) I went and got tested anyway and am now questioning if this put me at risk.
Initially I questioned the tester (telephonically after the test) about the lancet used. Of course she assured me that it was new and even mentioned that it was opened in front of me .. I can't remember.

My mind has now fixated on the fact that I did not put a plaster on my finger after the test. It was bleeding a little when I signed the receipt for payment but stopped before I left the clinic.
I throught that it was just a small cut and since it had stopped bleeding I did not think to put a plaster on.
I am extremely worried that the small cut, caused by the lancet, would of put me at risk even though I do not remember touching anything remotely liquid at the clinic or when I went to the shops afterwards.

Dr Hook at Medhelp has told me 'NO RISK' and a number of other posters on Medhelp have told me the same.

I am slowly letting go of this irrationality but would like to know the experts opinion's on this site.

I should be ecstatic since my wife and I are expecting our first child yet my upcoming work insurance medical sometime in July, which will include an HIV test, still causes me to worry.

Can I be 110% assured that me getting tested was never a risk ? (I feel so stupid for getting tested when I did not need to)

Can I complete the work insurance blood tests (re : HIV) with no worries at all, knowing that the result will undoubtedly be negative ?.

The advice givers on Medhelp especially do a tremendous job but I would like the opinion of experts here to help me in letting go of this irrational worry.

I appreciate all your time and apologize if my question boarders on the totally stupid ... I wish it was to me.

OCD,

You were not at risk. You ARE hiv negative.

You will not be permitted to use this forum to go on and on about something you've already been told is no risk.

If you have OCD, then you need to seek out a therapist. We cannot help you with OCD here.

Andy, would you concur with Ann's assessment ?. Absolutely, without a doubt 100% no risk ?.

I would appreciate your reply and this will be my last post because I need to let go of this irrational fear once and for all.
