Bad News Good News
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:37:02 am »
I just got the phone call that my Mom died this morning. On a better note:  Kurt seems to be doing well and is coming home from the hospital today following his "manipulation" of the knee.  He is scheduled for some serious physical therapy in the next few days.

Geez Joel, how much can one person endure?  Seriously.  I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing, but happy to hear that thus far Kurt's doing (somewhat) OK though we know he still has a lot in front of him.

Thank you all so much for the thoughts.  My Mom had a long and very productive life.  She was 96. The last few years she had not been well either physically or mentally and I am so glad she is at peace.  Its still not easy to loose your MOM.

I appreciate all the good thoughts. Its very reassuring to hear from all of you. I was feeling very overwealmed on Tuesday. I didnt know what to do, where to turn.  But its all getting back to normal now, with your help. My family is in North Carolina, so we will be having a Memorial Service for my Mom in Chapel Hill and interring her ashes with my Dad's at the University Methodist Church where she was active for many years.
Yesterday I had a good massage and I slept fairly well last night.
Kurts knee really is bending now. But it's so black and blue I can hardly look at it without wincing in pain.  I have been having a lot of "sympathetic" pain with his knee for a long time.

Wow Joel, I am so sorry I didn't get to this post sooner.  I'm very sorry to hear about your mom's passing.  Not sorry that she is at peace, but sorry about what you're going through losing her.  As you know, I recently lost my mum, and no, it's not easy, even though we don't want them to suffer.  PM me anytime.  I do check in here daily, even if it's just in the women's forum, so if you need to PM me, do so.  I wish you peace and healing during this difficult time sweetie-
