I am finishing the third day of a seven day Inland Passage cruise from Vancouver to Alaska.  Left a heat wave in Louisville and am loving the fifty four degree weather here.  Went whale watching and glacier observing today near Juneau.  Tomorrow, taking a train trip through the White Pass summit into the Yukon.  We will be docked in Skagway.  Finish with cruising Glacier Bay for a day and then spending a portion of a day in Ketchikan before returning to Vancouver and home on Saturday.

Still think some form of a cruise would be perfect for AMG although most of us would need to share accommodations.  Amazing accessible for anyone with mobility issues and there are tons of things to do.  Food for thought!

Looking forward to seeing you all in DC at the end of the month!

Sounds like you're having a wonderful cruise, Gary.  I know that a cruise has been mentioned before as a possible AMG gathering, but I'm not quite sure why it hasn't gotten off the ground.  Maybe we're a bunch of landlubbers.

Walked, well staggered, through my front door at 2:30 am today after an extended layover in Dallas.  The cruise was wonderful, and the excursions were even better than I anticipated.  Where else can I go whale watching, glacier watching, old train riding, totem pole carving watching, and salmon cannery watching? 

And, in the middle of a record heat wave in Louisville, I enjoyed temperatures in the 50s all week save for a rather cold day in the low 40s (with blustery wind) in Skagway.  Alaska would most likely not work for us for AMG but it is a great place to consider visiting.  Thanks Bocker for the suggestion...as always, it was on point!

Glad you had a great trip up to Alaska Gary, yes you missed a tough heat wave for most of us, cooler temps though will be coming, more than 54 degrees though.  See you in DC.
