Highest Honor
« on: September 18, 2007, 12:42:23 am »
This year's AMG was an event that could very well go down in history as one that will be hard to beat once we have all come down off of cloud nine.

RAB and I had the high honor and privilege of presenting our Dame Jan (anniebc) with a gift signed by each attendees of AMG 07.  This was a     matted 8x10 photograph of a rustic stone staircase within the National AIDS Memorial Groove.  This year's AMG Memorial Service was organized by Jan and written by Jan and Alanbama.  A brass plaque commemorated the event was inset in the bottom of the mat.  Each of us then signed the mat that surrounds the photo.

We honor her because she cared for us before she became one of us and her love for each and every member of the Forums is endless.

For each of you who were unable to sign this tribute to Dame Jan, please feel free to post your feelings in this thread.

With love and respect, R&R

I signed it and will pay my tribute to Jan again. The AMG memorial service was very powerful. Remembering our lost friends, thinking about all of those that passed away and by their sacrifice helped us being alive.

Thank you Jan, Alan, and everyone.

Milker.

It was a great event!  I had the honor of signing the matt and will say that the memorial was very touching.  Jan did a great job with it.  There were so many that put lots of effort into this gathering to make it successful.  I want to send a thanks out to all of them.

And coming down off of cloud nine isn't easy!!!

I just said goodbye to Jan as I was turning in.  She said, "Get a good night's sleep."

I miss her already!

It was an honor to sigh the matted photo for our dear Jan.  Jan when you look at those names let the love and respect that each of us have for you fill your heart.

You Will Never Walk Alone.

Love,

Dan

It was an honor to be asked and an honor to sign this gift to our Dame Jan.  I missed the Memorial Service after a sleepless night but, did catch up with everyone at Meet and Greet.  I was asked by Milker if I had the best day... No Sir, I had the best two days.  Have the best day

The Memorial Service was an amazing event...a reflection of the ones who planned it...very simple, yet so powerful!  Being newer to the forums I did not initially understand the gift to Jan....after the service and the weekend as a whole....now I fully understand the gift!

Jan....THANK YOU for sharing the gift of who you are!!

XOXO

Hi there

Thank you Ric for posting about my surprise night at the meet and greet, it was a wonderful surprise, but I'm the one who should feel honored..and believe me I do, how you all mangaed to keep it a secret is still a mystery to me... :D

I can't thank you all enough for such a great gift, as soon as I recover from my trip I will get it framed.

The inscriptions reads:

Jan, we thank you
"OUR SHARED PATH TO NEW HEIGTHS"

Hugs
