Hello my name is Baron and I have an Ex. that I dated about one (1) year ago or more and he is HIV+ (POS) and we had unsafe sex one time or more here and there and after he had told me I went to the Clinic and got tested ASAP and it came up HIV- (NEG) but then I went back 3Mo. from that test and got tested again and that one also came up HIV- (NEG) and then 3Mo. later I went to go get tested again and it came up HIV- (NEG).............Then from that time to this time (The Present) I did have sex here and there (SAFE btw) but there was this one person that I did have sex with (Un-Safe btw) and I never got tested until about 1Mo. ago and the only reason why I got tested is because I went to the Clinic for a Normal check-up (And because I had and am still getting sore's that fill up with puss of some kind and they are majority of the time painfull and just Ewwwwww.............Ewwwwww I know but it is the truth and that is the only way to find what I am looking for is by telling you people the truth. Right?) and then out of the blue my Dr. said I am going to give you an HIV/AIDs test because you MITE have HIV/AIDs and that may be causeing the sore's on your body (I have had one on my LEG, BUTT, HIP, and another on my other LEG, Oh and at least 6+ everywhere else but they didn't get EVIL-ly BAD though) .............Well to the point finally >< It has been 1Mo. now and the test has not come in and even the Dr. doesn't know why it hasn't come in yet but he did tell me that if they get it back in the LAB as HIV+ (POS) then they check it again and again just in case it could be wrong in any way shape or form >< So does this mean that I could be now HIV+??????????????????

I am handeling this 100% "NOW" but if I am or there is a high chance that I could be then well I hope I handle it 100% or at least pretty close to 100% ???

Baron-

Your post is extremely unclear, but I think I've got it:
1) You dated a poz guy last year and occasionally had unprotected sex with him. You tested negative out to six months.
2) Since then you have occasionally had sex. Most times you were safe, but at least in one instance weren't.
3) You have disgusting pus-filled sores on your body and fear it is somehow HIV related.

If I am correct in reading you correctly, then you need to test at 13 weeks from your last unprotected encounter.

I have no idea what your pus-filled sores might be and hope you find the answer with your doctor. They are not related to HIV.

You need to stop playing Russian Roulette with your health. Either make up your mind to use condoms during penetrative (vaginal/anal) sex along with plenty of water-soluble lube or find pleasure in activities where no penetration is involved (oral, mutual masturbation, frotting, fingering, toys, etc etc etc). But this sometimes safe/sometimes not is a dangerous game that could well lead to an eventual infection.

Good luck-
Brent

Yes it was all good and sorted to the 100% fullest (Sometime'z I tend to rant)...

But the Dr. said he think it may be HIV related some how............can it/could it be????????????????

and if they check HIV test'zz that come out POZ the first time - 2 to 3 times to make sure that the first one that came out POS is right or wrong...................then couldn't my 1 Mo. ago test be being checked 2 to 3 time to see if it could be wrong......................so that would mean that I mite be POZ

Oh and btw yes I now do SAFE 100% of the time (I may be a late bloomer in that area but I am and that is gut ja)

I wish I spoke German!

If 13 weeks have elapsed since your last unprotected encounter, then get tested and get a definitive result.

They confirm a positive ELISA with a western Blot in the US. I think it's the same in Europe.

Are you saying that you've had a positive test result?

  • It just is, OK?

Konig,

A positive result on an hiv ELISA test will be double checked with a test called a Western Blot. To find out more about hiv testing, please read our Welcome Thread and follow the Testing Lesson link. While you're there, please also read our Transmission Lesson.

It sounds more like your test was misplaced than any thing else. Labs don't leave positive results lying around on purpose, they pass them back to the clinic or doctor as soon as possible so the patient can be informed.

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. A negative result at six weeks following a real risk must be confirmed at the three month point. A three month negative is conclusive.

I'm glad to hear you've woken up to the importance of always using condoms. You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms and avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
