The role Nutrition plays in disease progression- is "Nutrition Key"?

For those of you that believe that Nurtition plays a large part in HIV (or any) disease progression, how much time did you spend researching various Vitamines, Suppliaments, Protein, Nutritional Levels? Have you ever had nutrition levels checked for deficiencies?

When I was diagnosed, the first thing that my doctor told me was that "Nutrition is Key". She did not expand on this. Do you believe that Nutrition is the Key to this disease and if so in what ways?
