He can't be too far away -- I checked his profile and:

Last Active:     Today at 08:40:09 PM

so maybe he's only got time to read.

He has been around a bit.  But I think several of us have been a bit more on the "quiet" side recently. Maybe for a number of different reasons.

HA!  My very own thread ; )

Hey guys,

Thanks for thinking of me!   I'm doing just fine.   Have been on Sustiva/Truvada for a couple weeks now and feeling much better.

I realized I was spending an inordinate amount of time on here and decided it was best to focus on more productive things.  I could spend the rest of my life on here or go out and live it so that's what I'm doing.

Now that I'm on meds I don't have that overwhelming anxiety about when/if/what etc.

Everything is not perfect, but I want my life back and I'm taking it back, all of it!

Hope you are all doing great and feel free to hit me up.  I believe my email is in my profile as well as my Myspace page so feel free to holler.  I just occasionally log in to check or reply to email now.

Happy St. Patty's Day! ; )

Hey Al,

To be honest I've been feeling SO MUCH improved with meds I really didn't want to deal with all of the negativity of this site.   I have absolutely ZERO negative SIDE EFFECTS to complain of and as I'd mentioned previously that I was working towards getting my life back, ALL OF IT!

There are some great people here; however, some of the individuals seem to thrive on negativity and I absolutely refuse to get sucked back into that negative frenzy.  Certainly, we all have our down moments, but I think it's important to share the upside of life as well.  Unfortunately, there is an overwhelming majority of negative feedback and hostility on this site so I really don't care to be part of the giant lifelong pity party for life!

I have an appointment for my first set of labs coming up on 4/5/07 after my first 30 days on meds and will of course share the info. with you guys.

For those who don't know I do happen to have my own HIV Discussion group on Myspace.

Here is the link:

http://groups.myspace.com/StraightTalkAboutHIVAIDS   It is and always has been free of advertising and personal attacks as well as moderators picking and choosing their dysfunctional favorite of the week.   It will remain that way and I'm now joining efforts with others with groups.

In addition, I do highly recommend Ray's new site which is Thinkpoz.com for those looking to meet other folks and the forums have started on there as well and appear to be a much more stable, functional and optimistic site ALSO free of advertising and certain moderators who pick and choose their pals while allowing others to be needlessly humiliated and attacked repeatedly.

So all are welcome to join my site or Rays or any others you like for support.  Harassment and other petty bullshit is NOT tolerated by my group and both are completely FREE.

That said, I am not spending so much time on here although occasionally come online to reply to email until I'm banned as another group leader has also been.

Wishing EVERYONE the very BEST.

HUGS,

Wesley

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling very welcomed on aidsmeds.com/poz.com

Although there have been a few negative attacks geared to a few of us newbies, I don't take them too personal and I don't you shouldn't either Wes. I think 95% of the people on poz.com are great individuals and don't mean to be malignant. Hope to see you on more often and I will visit you and Ray's sites too.

Al

p.s.

Glad you are moving on with your life and have minimal side effects.

AK, since you are one of the chief cheerleaders for the moderators I expected nothing less from you.   However, now that you have opened this door I will answer.  No, I've not been a hypocrit.  I've NEVER "Locked" a thread when it was something I personally disagreed with or an attack; however, if you'd bothered to do your homework, you'd know that!

Well, you never locked a thread because you CAN'T lock a thread so let's not go there.  You very well may have had you the opportunity, we shall never know.  I never liked homework, but was just pointing out that it seemed somewhat hypocritical that you include snide comments and backhanded insults in your post and then climb up on the pedastal of decency to spout how you are above that.  That doesn't seem a LITTLE hypocritical to you?  (I mean not Ted Haggard or Mark Foley Hypocritical but still)

As for me being a cheerleader, well, I respect that they do not have an easy job.  They lose no matter what they do.  So i guess *I* can see both sides of the issue in regards to the moderators.  I don't think they pick sides, I believe they try very hard not to pick sides.  But they are ALSO human, and with that may come subtle biases that you get in any community.  So, yeah, RAH RAH Moderators!  But im not wearing a skirt!

And im REALLY tired of hearing about Ray's site, but thats because I still have a bad taste in my mouth for what he pulled before with the "lawsuit".  As for your group, I haven't looked and therefore have absolutely no judgement on it.

Thanks tho, I havent typed this much in a while.

Well I haven't felt this "negativity" on here.

I'll take a look at all the sites, i'm sure this is good stuff on Austin's site and Ray's site, and the more people we can reach to help is the best. If it has to be a million sites, then be it.

I don't think site war will help, but we are mature people that can judge by ourselves.

Milker.

I agree Milker and I'm glad this site has been a positive influence for you.   HA, I just find it amusing that I'm being pegged as a hypocrit by someone who in his own admission has Zero knowledge about what he's talking about.  It's a prime example of what I was referring to.

Unfortunately, many have a nickname for this site now as AIDSMESS.com.

Milker, I wholeheartedly agree that the more sites available the better for everyone!

Wesley,
Glad to learn that everything's working fine for you, and nice to see you back!  Now, regarding the  "mess" you're talking about, would you say it is fair for all the people who missed you around here?
You are right in many respects, but putting everyone in the same boat!  You know for sure who your friends are here, right?  Hopefully the bad memories will be a thing of the past, and you'll pay us a visit more often.

Unfortunately, many have a nickname for this site now as AIDSMESS.com.

Again, am I the only one who see's the hypocrisy here?

"Harassment and other petty bullshit is NOT tolerated by my group"

Am I crazy?  Cause if I am i'll freely admit it.  I have no personal feelings for you Wes one way or the other really.  Just thought the action was hypocritical.  And maybe its cause you talked about Ray's site that I came off a little strong.  I still have that taste you know....

I am curious as to my ZERO knowledge.  If you can point me in the right direction im willing to take a look at what you're referring to.  Apparently I missed some HUGE drama, which isnt outta the question.  So point the way......

PS
I may not get to respond tonight.  But i will tomorrow when i have more time.

I didn't like that comment Wes. This is not aidsmess.com. It's not nice to turn you back on the people or things that at one point in your life helped you but you had your reasons.

I don't know what happened in the first place and I don't want to know. There seems to be a personal problem, which has nothing to do here and should be dealt in private. Having discussions like this doesn't help anyone, especially if we've not been involved in the first place.

So everyone take a deep breath, and go on with your lives, as Ann would say.

Wesley,  I really enjoyed reading your posts.  I know that there is often some bickering here, like many really busy websites.  Many people with differing points of view come to the table.  Some of the people with whom I have traded blows  (not the sexual kind) in the past have also made me think more deeply and even question my point of view.  As I get to better know and understand people here, I find that first impressions have often been wrong, or at least incomplete.

I think that many people here really like you and value your contribution.  It would be sad to lose your voice and perspective.

OK.  I was gonna stay out of this, but not now.

You wanna see an AIDS MESS?  Try here:

That's right.  We in the collective "life long pity party"  should remember that this is the same individual who absolutely flipped the f___ out at the mere suggestion he might have to trade in his comfy HIV tag for and actual AIDS diagnosis.

You were all too welcoming of solace when it was your crisis, huh?

We always got along well enough, Wes...but I'm not gonna let you sweepingly dismiss everyone from the Moderators on down as dysfunctional or as wallowing in self-pity.  Not when it is evident that you (or I, really) haven't confronted a fraction of what this disease has to dish out as many others here have.

If you really don't like it that much, take your toys and go play at your house.

Hey Al,

Whether you like the comment or not it's a fact.  And, no I've not lumped everyone in the same boat clearly although several have not correctly read my prior commentary.

Futhermore, I see no reason to bring up my thread when I indeed did have a crisis of my own as some sort of benefit nor does it prove anything.

Again, as evidenced in this thread "Where is Wesley" to which I responded.  As usual aa few of the dysfunctional crew feel compelled to jump in and attack me for stating the obvious rallying up their girlfriends for the drama!  So typical!

Just as I said, the negative aspects I felt compelled to discuss as my primary reason for not being on here as much are the main ones picked up by a few who unfortunately don't have a life outside of this setting.

To those who wished me well with the meds and labs I greatly appreciate it.

Peace!

Wesley

It's not as if you would have had anything beneficial to say anyway, like usual.  However, you somehow feel compelled to bring it up now!

I'm sorry to hear about your father's surgeries, but now after you've tried to embarass me you bring up dear old dad.   You know we all have family issues!

This thread is like herpes.

In that it goes away and comes back repeatedly.

Only it's more annoying.
