Meds & Herbs too.....?
« on: February 07, 2007, 05:37:48 pm »
Hi Everyone,........

I hope I don't ramble so much here at any time but I was wonder about a recent post on Selenium supplement daily. It got me to thinking more on vitamins and herbs.

I'm on Atripla now since the Sustiva and Truvada are combined now...( cost me half as much now monthly so I'm happy ).

I've never had any side effects other than some early morning/day nervousness/jitters....especially if I did not get enough rest or sleep well )......but the crazy dreams are still hit and miss even after two years. Phew!

My eventual diagnoses has been a saga to say the least but ol' well, I'm still here.

Years of annual HIV Testing, years of below avg low white blood count, constant doctor visits fearing a brewing Lymphoma of sorts, surgery for lymph node biopsy, bone marrow withdrawal,...........and then BAM! They tell me I'm HIV POZ.
Now they tell me?.........and I had to go on meds pretty much immediately.....no 5-7 year average time lapse for HARRT treatment for me,...............IT's NOW!

Anyhow,...........how does everyone feel about supplementing Meds/ Diet/ Excercise with Herbs???

I recently read about Selenium here on a forum and YES! It's in my liquid multi-vitamin for enough daily recommended dose.
A liquid multi-vitamin can be an excellent source for Selenium ( which I read has been referred to as the " viral birth control pill " since it has been proven to reduce viral replication). One can take too much I've read, so don't over do it.

I'm all about herbs now since I started researching all the natural herbs. I'm now taking some that are supposed to boost my low white blood cell count also.....and not to mention the immune system.

So what is everyone else's thinking on the subject of herbal suplements? Any other experiences to share on herbs?

PS> Thanks to everyone for sharing your life here with all..........Much Love to You!

Hello Daiwic,

Welcome to the forums. I have never really done all that much with the Herbs. You do have to be cautious with the herbs, especially if you are on HIV medication.

As far as vitamins and supplements, this site offers a great lesson. You can read it by clicking below on the link :
