Helmut Lang jeans have button flys.  And the cut is perfect for those of us with pencil thin lipo legs.  I'm sure Helmut has teh AIDS, because all of his clothing is for those of us with wasted figures.

$299.00 for one pair of jeans?  I am so out of it.  Couldn't they come up with a better name?  Does Acne mean something good in another language?

Hmmm... can't recall exactly.  $150/$200 I think.  I was just by the APC store in SoHo a couple of weeks ago but didn't go in.  I was always more of a Helmut Lang fanatic, and even have a pair on as I type.  Of course, now that Helmut retired the line isn't worth a dime.

Right now it's *ALL* about Swedish ACNE jeans, but I've yet to buy any.  I will soon though... a girl MUST keep up, you know :)

Shouldn't you be sporting Ksubi?

We are so ripped off here. Even a pair of basic 501's cost us about $150. The pair of Ksubi's I like are $375. As my Nudie's, G-Star's and Energie jeans cost me about $300 a pair, Ksubi, ACNE and APC will just have to wait. I suspect ACNE and APC will just be too darned long for a short-arse like me anyway.

Doxie honey, you have said a mouthful. I was the same size for at least 30 years. Now I am gaining.  :'(

What the hell. I'm a gay may who is past 50, has HIV and isn't rich. I am invisible to the rest of the world anyway, so it doesn't matter what I wear - or weigh.

501's for $150?.  WOW.  $35.00 here.  If you want a pair send me your size.  In fact, maybe the kids' sizes are even cheaper. ;D

We should start up an import/export business.  Use the income to buy your ticket to Mexico City.

And, Mark, you look hot in your Levi's.  I've seen you twice now, once in Montreal and last summer in SF and both times you had on your Levis' and looked mahhvelous.

Probably a good idea; an export business  !!!

We used to be able to order & buy online (much and much cheaper) from american online shops. However since about a year it's becomming more and more difficult and sometimes virtually impossible, because we a redirected to European online shops/sites. Importers and distributors have been seeing a decline in their sales, and managed to put a halt to "parallel imports". A pair of Levi's 501 goes on average for €100's (if bought online!) factor in the currency exchange rate and it adds to +/- $ 145,=

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe the very American Levi's are no longer even made in America.

edited to add:

we've gone from genes to jeans in this thread ;D

I get my jeans my the local Goodwill.  But they keep going up in size, so I feel ya Dachs and Mark.

I think you right, Doxie.   I know Levis had factories in the South and in Texas.  They closed them up and moved to Mexico.  I think even Mexico got too expensive and now they're made in SE Asia somewhere.

Grasshopper, like I said, send me your size and I'll send you some Levis.  Hey, if you sell them to the people in your support group at $75/pop, they'll get them at 1/2 price and you double your investment. Maybe that will be the motivation to get you to Mexico city too.

robert

this thread, like most of MtD's has gone to the dogs.  But that's OK.  Matty might bitch and moan about a lot of things but I don't think he's that picky about his 'threads' so talking about jeans just might be OK.

Pssshhh sometimes you can buy Levis for $22- $28 bucks on sale.

Anyone else notice that their sizing is screwed up?
I wear one size smaller in Levis than any other pants.
