Title: Pretty down about relationship break-up - inspiring stories please?
Post by: betterdaysahead22 on June 11, 2013, 07:43:20 pm
Hey everyone,

I've been diagnosed and on treatment for about 4 months now, I'm just hovering annoyingly above undetectable, but I feel physically great and I'm living healthily.

However emotionally I have more ups and downs than a roller coaster in an earthquake. My boyfriend infected me after injecting speed, and despite us trying to make it work and him giving up every drug but weed, I couldn't get past the fact that his friends are still addicts and dealers and he actively chose to keep them in his life. In a long convoluted way he kind of chose them and drug money (albeit not actual drugs) over me. We broke up about a week ago and ... I'm not coping so great. Especially since we live together and I can't move into my new place for another fortnight.

I'm seeing people but I'm so scared to get close to anyone because I know if i tell someone my status and they reject me it'll be a huge blow to the ego that I just can't deal with right now, yet the only way I know how to cope with a breakup of this magnitude is rebounding.

I guess what I'm hoping for more than anything are stories from positive women who've found a neg partner. I just need to know it's possible and that it's not over for me.

Hi,
The first guy I dated after diagnosis was negative. We were friends before I was diagnosed and when I informed him of my diagnosis, he told me he wanted to be with me. So we dated...it was great, but parted ways because of distance. I ended up meeting someone on pos personals (he is pos) and we are together now for a long committed more than 3 years.

So don't give up...don't be shy!
Goodluck!
