Title: Somebody help me out please
Post by: ManonFIRE on June 06, 2011, 01:35:45 pm
so back in December I had unprotected oral sex with a prostitute, and protected vaginal sex. (I am a man)

About 1 or 2 later I had 2 seperate occasions where I went to an asian massage parlor and received handjobs only.

I waited 82 days past my sexual encounter and had an antibody test for HIV and it came back negative.

Lessons were learned from all this and have stopped messing around and really appreciate my wife and my life.  We want to have children now, but I keep thinking what if I am somehow infected due to not waiting long enough?  so I had a few questions.

1.  Did I wait long enough?
2.  Are handjobs a risk?
3.  Ive been experiencing tingling, numbness in my left hand.  left pinky and left side of the palm.  could this be somehow related?

somebody please help me out.  should I get tested again???

At no time did you have a risk of contracting HIV nor did you need testing.

As Rod has told you, you are worrying needlessly about HIV in relation to these incidents. Whatever is causing your numbness and any other symptoms have nothing to do with HIV. If those problems persist you should discuss them with your doctor.

This is not an HIV situation and there is no need for HIV testing.

Ok, so i had a test back in march as stated at the 83 day mark.  Negative.

On June 21st, a little past 6 months, got another EIA blood draw.  negative.

I visited a few massage parlors in between these 2 tests.  This week I have had a bad cold, and passed it to my wife.  she's had bad diahhrea for 2 days.  Isn't that an ARS symptom?

Is there a chance my June 21st test was right before I could have seroconverted from the handjobs, or possibly late from the penetrative sex back in december?

Help me please...

■Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Manon,

It is no surprise that your unnecessary hiv tests came back negative. You did not have a risk for hiv infection.

Protected intercourse is just that - protected. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. There have been long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Getting a handjob is absolutely NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you will not be the first. Don't come back with any non-sense like "but what if she had a cut on her hand". This does not make a difference. Handjobs are NOT a risk for hiv infection.

You do not have hiv. If you and/or your wife feel unwell, see a doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv.

If you continue to come back here to question your hiv status or your NO RISK activities, you WILL be given that Time Out Rodney warned you about.

Hey everybody, me again...

So, I feel like its hard coming to grips with being negative.  My body temp is always slightly higher, i keep getting these red spots/blisters on my hands, and still am terrified of having unprotected sex with my wife.

any chance a guy like me could have has 2 false negatives?

You are HIV negative. Period.

The blisters on your hand are something to discuss with your doctor.

No, you wouldn't get two false negatives, particularly when you never had a risk to begin with. You continue to put more belief in your fears and doubts than in HIV science.

I'd say the real problem here is your guilt about having strayed some. If you can't let go of these unwarranted fears then go see a therapist or other professional to sort things out. We can't help you with that in this setting.

I'm giving you the Time Out for 28 days which up were warmed about. Don't make the mistake of trying to get around it by creating a new name. We'll spot that right off and it will get you banned permanently.

HIV is not your problem. Period.
